By the way it looks as if your jamb nut is loose on the wheel side of the steering cylinder. Looks like its time to give that hard working girls some TLC!

Also relocate them hard lines going to the steering hoses. They need to come up so they do not get damaged from hanging low. It may take some slight bending so be careful.

My suggestions:
1. Turn the cylinder as suggested. This will put the fittings facing the front of the tractor rather than the rear. It doesn稚 look like there is enough clearance if you leave them facing the way they are.
2. Install 90 degree fittings.
3. It appears that you will need to then install longer hoses over the axle cause there doesn稚 look to be enough slack in the existing ones to reach.
4. Move the axle fill dipstick to the right side so that you won稚 have to fight the hoses when you want to check the oil level.

Thanks Chris, I noticed the jam nut too just haven't got started on it yet. TLC is on it's way just a little at a time and deciding what's needed sooner vs later. Working on a few of projects as soon as spring arrives and the tractor will be a big help, so gonna get it ready to do the hard work so I don't have to..

Thanks for the dipstick tip -- it is a duh, why did I not think of that but I didnt:eek::eek:
ICUFLY --when my loader crunched one of my hoses, I ran around looking for a replacement locally -- could be done but at three times the price -- I mail ordered replacements as the others have suggested

Mine are 45's, but since your fittings will be aimed at the front of the tractor rather than up - I think that you will be better of with 90 degree fittings.

I think the idea is to rotate it so that the fittings point up and then use 45's to route over the top.

If you owned one of these yourself, you'd probably have a better feel for what's going on here. The steering cylinder is anchored on a post type bracket. It can only be mounted two ways. Depending upon where the holes are tapped into the cylinder, that's either (a) facing front or rear, or (b) up or down. The OP photos show his currently facing rearward. Rotating the cylinder on it's anchor would obviously then place those hole facing forward. 90 degree elbow fittings (or 2x45) would then facilitate running the hoses up and over the front axle housing.

I was going off what Chris said.

As Greg stated your cylinder is in wrong. Loosen the cylinder and rotate it so the fitting are upright. Contact Ronald at Ranch Hand Supply to get the new hoses. Trying to run all over town is a loosing battle for metric stuff. Ronald can custom make hoses now to any length I think. He will have them in your hands by the weekend if you call him today.
