Okay you hydraulics experts. In researching the remote valve on my tractor, I noticed one number (4) is upside down from the rest (A16), so I researched "A16"

I have found what seems to be a name of an interface type (standard?). Here is an example from a google search result:

Sectional Valve DCV60 Series
1. Max flow: 60L/min
2. Max working pressure: 315bar
3. Working sectionas: 1~12
4. Threads: G1/2" (standard)
5. Spool stroke: +5~-5
6. Working section spools--S1: 3positions,double-acting
7. Spool control handle side--C2: handle at 180
8. Spool control spring cap side--A16: electrohydraulic control on-off voltage 24 volt c.c

(I added the emphasis)

Is this a standard interface size/layout? If so, are valves with A16 stackable and interchangeable?

I have found "A16" popping up on a number of valves on a number of sites.

Hydraulics experts, what say you?

Thanks!

Another example, appears to reference a standard, DIN24340

Anyone have some input on this?

Thanks!

I appreciate the looksee, Kennyd. Let's see if we all can't figure this out. Would certainly help in sourcing hydraulics...;)

Here is another example, with a C6-2 after it.

Another reference to it being a hole pattern, along with (different?) ISO and CETOP as hole patterns. Boy, wish we had additional hydraulics experts in this thread...

Here is an item that give the dimensions of DIN24340 form A16. Is this a standard across different manufacturers?

Check out this pdf, I've included pages 8&9, references both DIN24340 and A16.

I think the DIN24340 refers to the hole pattern and A16 has to do with the particular "class" of application (plumbing of the ports within the manifold/body)

Does that sound right?

DIN, Deutsche Industrie Normen, 24340, seems to be a standard (German!!) that standardize the shaping and sizing of manifold mounted valves. A16 describes the form or shape (A) and size (16).
So maybe all valves with an "A16" design uses a DIN 24340 std spring on the capped side of the spool....

That's is my "interpretation" of this....

I would try this question at this forum....Hydraulic&Pneumatics....there is a bunch of specialists on hydraulic hardware, especially German Rexroth.....

Thanks for the reply. I can't open the link to the forum- maybe you have to be a member to see it?

So it sounds reasonable that valves from different manufacturers should be able to stack together, as long as they have the same DIN 24340 A16 designation?

Has anyone tried this?

Link works for me....you do not have to be memeber to see it, but indeed to post the question....

Yes I think so....I think this A16 is a std about a manifold/valve, size and hole pattern....
