Kubota B1750
Hey all, Got a question about my bucket dumping on my loader. Its a B1750 with the LA300 loader on it. What's happening is the dumping function is not working like it should, or at least I don't think so. Figured I'd pick somebody's brain on it. up, down is fine, so is the curl function, but it's very SLOW to dump recently. Used to dump pretty quick but now it dumps slow when you move the lever to the right, nothing if you go further to the detent position. According to my pressure gauge its pressureing up like it should when you move it to the right, and dumps slow, but absolutely nothing when you go to the detent position past that. nothing at all, almost like its in "float". If I understand right, when you move it to the right its in regen position (2200 psi there) , but all the way to right in the detent position should be the "normal" position, but I'm not getting any pressure at all, not even 1 psi. Any ideas? Is there something that can be done or is it going to be the inevitable valve rebuild or replacement???

By the way, not very fun dumping snow when it takes 5-7 seconds to dump it.

It sounds like the dump valve is not getting fully actuated. I am not familiar with the B1750 FEL control valve but check any linkage or cables between the control lever and the valve.

I agree, that is a good place to start.

For a great explanation of the Regen feature read THIS thread.

I've seen (and had) alot of problems with rust and crud building up inside the caps on the back side of the hydraulic valves. What happens is condensation / moisture gets under the dust cap and has no way to escape. Crud builds up..... and next thing you know the crud is preventing full throw of the valve. You can remove the caps and clean in there, but i'll advize getting an exploded view of the valve first if you can. When removing mine....... the steel balls for the float detent hit the floor and i knew i was in trouble. After a few hours and six tries at reassembly, i finally got it back together correctly. I *think* you should be on easy street on a valve with no detent. Before you finish reassembling, drill a small hole in the lowest point on the dust cap..... this will alow moisture to escape, and give you a place to inject a lubricant with one of those straw thingeys once in awhile. Trying this shouldn't cost anything (as long as you don't lose parts ;)) ..... so this is where I'd start.

Just to eliminate a very remote possibility, I'd disconnect and reseat the quick connects for the curl function. One of them could be not completely seated and act as a partial checkvalve in one direction. It's a remote possibility, but it's also very easy to check and eliminate.

Oh yes, one other thing... When you go to the dump position, do you hear the engine load up like the hydraulic pump is loading it? If your joystick valve is working properly, it should have backpressure to the pump and load the engine to the point that you'd hear the relief valve open. If you aren't hearing any loading, there is probably something wrong with the valve.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I looked and the valve is fully actuating so I'm going to assume a seal is messed up on that spool. Its funny because using it yesterday it seemed to dump faster than it has been, still nothing in the detented area of that spool though. No biggie right now since a newer problem arose yesterday.... All of a sudden when under a load of pushing or trying to scoop up a bucket of dirt the tractor would lunge in and out like the tranny was "hopping". Doesn't seem to affect the loader controls though. All the fluids were changed, and filters changed and cleaned about 2 months ago and everything is full like it should be..... :: dumbfounded :: Not looking to be an easy or CHEAP fix! :(

Jinman, it's loading up when you move the lever to the right in the regen position, but nothing if you go to the detent position. Unless I understood it wrong it should regen immediately to the right, but all the way over in the detent position should be the normal "fast dump".

My loader doesn't work that way. It dumps normally when I move the joystick a small amount to the right. It goes into regen/fast dump when I go all the way over to the right. Regen and fast dump are the same thing. From what you are describing, you curl circuit is going into "float" where there is no pressure applied and the bucket can just do whatever gravity tells it to do. It would be interesting to hear what would happen if you had a full bucket and shut off the tractor's engine before attempting to dump the load. Also, with an empty bucket, put the arms in the air and shut off the engine. Bungee the joystick over to the right and see if you can grab the lip of the bucket and move it back and forth in curl motion.
