Water Heater Help - No Pressure

/ Water Heater Help - No Pressure #41
I replaced this last run with pex over the weekend and now all my pressure problems have been solved. I have equal pressure on the hot and cold sides.

Thanks everyone!

Lawrence, do you have any idea why the CPVC failed? I have CPVC in my house with no problems so far. Do you think you crushed or twisted the CPVC during your renovation?

Glad you got it all fixed.:)

I'm assuming poor initial installation. I don't know if there is such a thing as a low grade version of CPVC but if there is I have seen it. I have used CPVC in the past and it acted nothing like this stuff did. This was very brittle, even when it was warm. I was told when I bought the house that the CPVC was installed in the late 80's, but it really looked a lot older than that.

PVC is sensitive to UV light. It will degrade and become brittle if left out in the sun unless you paint it. I betcha that stick was on the contractor's roof rack for a while.
