Oil & Fuel JD 2040 fuel problems

Does anyone have any experience with a 2040? I cannot get it to start, I am getting fuel to the injector pump but nothing out of it to the injectors. I have removed the end of the pump (where the fuel comes in) and cleaned everything in there including the filter. When I turn over the engine with the end of the pump off I can see the assembly rotating like an old rotary engine but have no idea how to go into the pump and further. Any advice would be welcome at this point as i am at a total loss what to try next. Thanks.

Does it have a mechanical fuel shut off or electric? If electric I would check that.

The only fuel shutoff is the knob that you pull that shuts off the fuel at the injector pump. I have checked that linkage and it does seem to be working correctly inside the pump... but I do not have a diagram of the insides of the pump to be sure.

I think you have checked it as far as you can go, I would pull the injector pump and take it in to a injector pump shop to have it serviced. I would not take an injector pump apart myself. Leave that to the pro's, I will work on just about anything else on my tractors but not an injector pump.
