Pictures From The End Of Your Driveway

March snow. We've had four different snow "events" here this year. This was the most recent. We usually have one snow "event" every 3-4 years. The last pic. is actually from the end of the drive. The 2nd pic. is of a friends house across from our Fire Department. The other two pics. are of our house driving down the driveway (pic. 1 and 3).

That's pretty. Looks like you got more snow than us up in Indiana.

We were only supposed to get a "dusting", but had 4 inches by lunch. I live 8 miles from work (school) and in a different county and on top of a mountain. The county we live in called off school that day, but the county I work in did not.

There is about a 500 foot change in elevation from my house to school. When I dropped off the mountain there was no snow in the valley. I mean none. I pulled into the parking lot with 2" on top of my car and everybody asked where I had been  .

Yeah. That always amazes me how a change in elevation can make such a difference in weather. Vacationing in the Smokies last year we ran into that. 70 in Pigeon Forge, snow and road closed 30 minutes away.

Worst one I remember was my wife and I on vacation in Colorado back in August of 1992. 70-75 degrees in the town. Bazillion below zero and blizzard like conditions at top of Pike's Peak. She was 5 months pregnant and could not get off the cog railway train up there because of the blowing and drifting. That was quite an eye opener for some Indiana kids!

Yeah I know. Usually elevation doesn't make that much of a difference here, but it did that day.
