I like your reply Grandad4. I have a GC 2620TLB which I only run at idle
for attaching implements. The only reason I do this is to slow the movement
of the the 3 point arms when changing implements. By the way, I looked
at Massey and Kubota, there is no right choice, it's a personal one.

As for engine rpm, think Harley and Honda. Anyone think the Harley's goin' farther just because the engine runs slower?

I for one think the HD Motorcycles will go farther with the buy American folks like me . F.Y.I. Massey Ferguson is a 160 year old USA company and is still headquartered in Duluth, Georgia . I do my best to support USA company products, just my opinion. This is not intended to start a fire about orange versus red, but only to make a point about USA companies, they can sure use the help these days :D :D :D. If I were to own a motorcycle, it sure would be a HD or Victory, but I am disabled and a motorcycle is not a transportation option for me. I also like the lower RPM's the GC2410 has to offer. KC

I'm a very happy Massey owner. However I started out to buy orange 5 years ago when I didn't know that anybody else made a similar unit. The local dealer turned me off and chased me away. So I had to go looking. Found the Massey and never looked back. Now that I have some experience [ about 900 hours on the Massey ] and some time on others, I like a few things better, specifically the ease of changeover on backhoe and loader. Good luck.

I like the fact there is a choice in the first place. Competition breeds product improvements. If the Massey product starts eating into Kubota's market share enough, you can bet there will be an upgrade to the Kubota product shortly thereafter. That's a win for everyone. So, even though I have the orange brand at work on my place, I'm pulling for red - and green and blue, etc. - to succeed with great products.

BTW you do realize the GC is built by Iseki and imported by Agco. The BX is built in Gainesville, GA. USA.
I try to buy American when I can but it gets really fuzzy now with the international companies. Do you favor MF since their office is in Georgia, USA even though the manufacturing jobs are in Japan? Or do you favor Kubota whose office is in Japan but the jobs are in Georgia, USA?? (Yes, I know the engines are imported):confused::confused:

Take a look at the Cub Cadet SC2450. I have one and look at the same tractors you are looking at. I just likes how the layout of the controls.
the Sc2450 can lift the bucket and move the backhoe at idle.
It has 2 pumps, and you shift on the go between high and low range.

Put me down as one who researched the green, orange, red and blue machines. I ended up choosing the GC2400 over the BX. Like everyone has already said, you won't go wrong with either.

To answer your questions:
Yes, I know where the GC is born; and yes I know where the BX is born in Gainesville, GA. USA with the help of 1200 workers; and yes I favor MF since their corporation headquarters is in Duluth, GA. USA, and no I do not favor Kubota because their corporation headquarters is in Osaka, Japan.
As I stated before, "I do my best to support USA company products, just my opinion" and I will say it again :D :D :D. KC

P.S. I really do not wish to debate which company has the most USA employees.

I'm sorry if it seemed I was arguing, etc. Your preference is none of my business. The question was purely rhetorical. I was attempting to state my personal dilemma as to whether I should purchase a product made in the US by a foreign owned company or should I purchase a product made in a foreign country and sold by a US company. It's becoming a choice we have to make more frequently. Toyota builds many cars in the US. GM imports some vehicles from Canada and Mexico. Obviously, I would prefer to purchase a product made in the US by a US owned company and if I choose wisely, I can still do that with a vehicle. Unfortunately, this does not seem to be an option with the subcompact tractors.
