Got to test the ROPS yesterday. We were moving a stump with the boom and lost traction on the front, spun around to the side and rolled over. The stump was just off the ground and it didn't help to drop it and stomp the clutch. I never thought I would really need the ROPS I made a few years ago. Posted pics on the Yanmar photo section. The tractor and I are both OK just scratched up some. Be careful out there!

Post some pics here for those that may benefit from the incident. Were you hurt?

Glad you weren't hurt and I bet you are really glad you added the ROPS.

It's just taking a nap... it worked hard. Did it take much to get it upright??? Nice job on the ROPS... glad to see it worked for you.

(I linked his photos here, since he's a new member and may not know how to do it)

PS. I'm an older member and I didn't even know about the "photo section"... ;)

Holy mackerel! Looking at those weights that came loose, it's a good thing they didn't come at you!

WOW! That looks like it would have kept rolling (right over the top of you) if it didn't have ROPS on it. Glad you're OK.

That's a very stout looking ROPS you built for yourself - good thing! Were you wearing a seatbelt too?

Thanks for posting TEG. Good to hear you weren't hurt. So now its a hassle intsead of a tragedy. Make sure and let it set for a day or so before trying to start it. It may be hydro locked. Oil gets above the pistons and if you try to start it without letting it drain down you can bend a rod or other bad things. After letting it set upright for a day or so try turning the motor over by the crank(making sure the engine cant start). If it can be turned over by hand it would not be hydro locked. Check all of the fluids and make sure they are ok. It will smoke a bit when you get it started but that will go away.

It's so easy for something like this to happen, that's why you have the ROP's  for the "just in case" :) Glad no one was hurt. In one way it is good to see the pics as a reminder to the rest of us. :D

Teg thanks for linking the pics. It wasn't a big deal to get it back on the wheels. We used a come along ( same one laying on the ground after the roll ) hooked to the ROPS and the back of a pickup. It was on it's side less than 20 minutes. Checked the fluids, spun it over using compression release then let it start. It seemed fine so we completed the original job. I did not have the seat belt on. And yeah I'm really glad it had a ROPS.
