hi guys, maybe you can give me some advice. on my new 3520 with 72D mmm the mower deck seems to raise and lower entirely too fast. it just about slams at the top and bottom of the travel. even if the motor is at idle. does yours act the same way? is there a fix for this condition? my old 4410 had two hyd. lines running from the rear of the tractor to the lift cylinder for the deck. this tractor only has one. ?????? please give me some good advice. thanks in advance. sincerely, bud

Do you have the independant lift kit, or it is connected to your draft arms?

Hmmm, I have about the same setup (3720 with 7 Iron 72" mmm) and the deck lift cylinder has two lines connected to it from the rear remotes. My deck does not move up/down all that fast.

The solution is to install a restrictor in one of the lines to slow the cylinder down.

Seems a bit peculiar as that 72D is a very heavy deck, and I have a 72 7Iron non "D" deck and I have not seen that issue. I think KennyD is right. Also check with your local dealer 's service shop about options.

I have the 72D MMM on my 3520 and I experience the same concern of slamming. As I recall it only has one line to the cylinder. Been trying to modulate the pressure by moving the contol lever slowly during lifting/lowering. Also, the cylinder always seems to leak down as I must always lift the mower deck eveytime I get into the tractor.

The only flow restrictor I recall seeing was on the front hyd lift cylinder used for the plow.

All right...someone else needs to learn to use JDParts;)

Below is what the lift cylinder should look like if I searched correctly. Part #12 is listed as a "Orifice". That should modulate the speed. Either it's not there or it's to big.

You beat me to it. My guess is someone did not put in in when they put on the deck.

Looks like a very easy fix to insert the orifice part.
