Broken piece in joystick...where to get part?

/ Broken piece in joystick...where to get part? #11
The piece is actually plastic. I don't know what the correct name of it would be. It isn't a part of the actual hydraulic valve. The valves sit a foot lower in the hoe podium(?eh?) This is just a part of the joystick.
I tried to glue it, didn't work. Might have still had some grease on it. I'm going to break it down more, clean it real good (what should I use to remove all the grease residue?) then I'm thinking of drilling at an angle through the two pieces, countersink the ends of the holes and fill it with JB Weld. It seems pretty silly to me to put a plastic piece in amongst all that steel. But what do I know.
I'll get it some better pics tomorrow, maybe, it's been raining for days here and I don't have an inside place to work.

Thanks for the suggestions,
Patrick

Is it removable? Can you remove it and take a pic? Thanks!

Hi all,
I have a Mahindra with a backhoe, the 3710 hoe. I went to use it the other day, and as soon as I pulled on one of the sticks, it just went "flop" in one axis. I took the stick out and apart. There is a white plastic piece that connects the linkage from the valve to the joystick. This piece is broken right where the end of the metal rod stops.
It is a cofle stick.[at least that is what is says on the side, that might not be the brand name...]

Any links?
Thanks all,
Patrick

Patrick, we should have these in stock here in Red Bluff, CA. A couple of years ago KMW started sourcing these pieces individually and you no longer have to buy an entire kit or valve. You can get them from your dealer, or any Mahindra dealer.

Ball Joints & Rod Ends They said they didn't think they had anything like that. I have had no luck getting part from my dealer. I like them, but don't know if they know all the tricks of sourcing something. I know when I broke mine they called KMW and they said they would sell whole control! Aaron

Thanks to everyone for all their work.
I really appreciate it.
"Rod end", I had no idea what to call it!
I'll contact my closest dealer and see what I can find out.

Dave, tried to call you today, they said you were out. Talked to Rob(? maybe?). Very helpful. Gave me a price and offered to ship me one today. I'm going to try a "fix" without spending the cash, but I may very well call back and order that.
My "local" dealer is an hour and a half away, when I talked to them on the phone he said he'd have to see the part to figure out which on it was....I'm not driving that far for that. You're guy knows what it is and handled me very well.
Why do you and Galen have to be so far away?!? I can never find decent service around here, dealing with anything...
Thanks, and good show!

I learn a lot from Galen myself. :)

Dealers that do a high volume of sales run into more issues. Once an issue arises and a solution has been accomplished, we tuck that away in the knowledge bank for the future. Some smaller dealers are outstanding though, they just need to keep connected to the Mahindra service rep and network with other dealers and share solutions. You spoke with our GM Rob, and he himself is an excellent wrench, so he stays on top of things.

Thanks for the kind words.

I just remembered, when I broke mine and went to dealer, it doesn't show that part on the computer parts break down!

Okie dokie....
Here's another view of the joystick, the piece that is broke was in the upper right corner.

This is the end of the piece that actually broke.

The whole piece, with the "linkage".

Here's the joystick again, the broken piece should be sticking out the bottom like the one in the picture.

So I'm going to try to put it back together with some JB Weld, if that doesn't work, I'll order a replacement.
