First i would like to say hi to all. I have been reading your forum for a couple of months and have learned many many things from you all.
I am currently in Afghanistan but will be home for a couple of weeks in the next 10 days. My wife has purchased 50 acres since i've been gone (we will move there within a couple days of my return) and it is out intent to buy a tractor as soon as i get home. I have read and reread about tractor models, sizes, etc. and had finally decided the Kioti DK45SE would meet my needs well and give me the best bang for my buck. I had decided to buy new specifically for the warranty/servicing and the piece of mind i would have once i went back to Afghanistan and left the keys with my wife. Now comes my issue. I have one dealer that is 135 miles (they sent me a quote) and one dealer that is 90 miles (they never sent me a quote) from my 50 acres. Additionally, i currently live only 10 miles from a Kioti dealer but of course the 50 acres is 200 miles from my current home. I am hesitant about buying from the dealer where my current home is knowing that they will not be the one serviceing my tractor once i move. Would you all consider buying a tractor knowing the dealerships are so far away or would you move on and look at a different brand but with a dealership that is much closer? Thank you all for your time and sorry this is quite long.

First, thank you for your service!

Secondly, I love that DK45SE tractor and it's a beast, you will be very happy.

Personally, I would buy from the dealer that will be servicing it. They set it up and they personally finished building that particular tractor so they know it the best. I also think you should support the one that will have to go at bat for you against the manufacturer if you ever need warranty service.

Good Luck with the purchase!

Not that much difference between 90 and 135 miles, given how rarely you'll have it taken in.

JCarpenter2,
THANK YOU for serving us and our country!!

I too would suggest/recommend getting the tractor from the dealer that you will go to for service (with the understanding that you are completely comfortable w/ the dealer and the way they treat you during the buying experience).

I just bought a DK40SE HST and I bought from Kenton Co. Equipment (KY - Greater Cincinnati area). You are going to thoroughly enjoy it! Keep us posted and you know the drill.....pictures!!!!
God Bless!

Be sure you know where to hang the top link when you are using the rear hydraulics! I dunno, I have had mine for a couple years and it has not needed any dealer servicing. It's out of warranty anyway. I guess I have to do the 200 hour thing myself.
I'll recommend that you don't let any part of a building fall on your cab roof. I did that to mine and it bent one of the mirrors and I had to repair the fiberglass where I put a big crack in it. Hmm, let's see, what else....nope, that's it. Keep the fluids/filters changed, and don't drop anything big on your cab.
Mine has met with several small disasters like that. The PO bent the right side step, the left rear fender, the backhoe swing pivot (don't know how), the left side engine cover and the front edge of the loader bucket.

Distance is a relative thing. I order all my filters from the web and get my fluids at Atlantic Tractor. I think there are a few vendors on this forum who you can call for parts and have them shipped to your door. I tend to stay away from the stealership as much as I can. I don't like being sold stuff I don't want or need.

My dealer is 300 miles away. I do routine servicing and troubleshooting myself and the dealer supports via phone. If I really needed service I'd probably go to a local more convenient local dealer but these tractors are reliable enough that you don't need to worry about that happening very much. I'd choose whichever of the three dealers is someone you think would be supportive by phone as getting questions answered is probably the most likely thing you will need from a dealer.

I'd try and buy from a dealer close to where you are moving. You'll need various items and help and it would be an advantage. I've been to the Kioti dealer(I think New Holland as well) in Clarksville. I think all the dealers will be competitive price wise. BTW, you'll really enjoy your Kioti.

I agree with most of the earlier comments, especially the "Thank You" ones. My son in-law is over there also and I can't wait for him to get back safely this month :). In the almost 4 years I have had my CK30 it has never had to back for any service, so even for parts like filters and such I would have them shipped from your dealer of choice rather that drive to get them (Unless you just want to go see all the nice shiny tractors again :D) Find the dealer you feel most comfortable with and go with them, if you are like most of u it will never need to go back.

I didn't see where he writes that he is in Afghanistan serving with the Military. There are plenty of civilian employees there. In any case I'm sure he'll be way happier to be home than over there.
