I need to replace the gas tank on a Craftsman riding mower (917.272244). To do that I have to remove the red fiberglass cover from the footrests to the back -- it is one solid piece. Any hints would be appreciated.

I'd junk the darned thing since I just got a BX2360 for mowing, but the little lady uses it to tow around a big yard cart and wants to keep using it.

Thanks.

The only advice i can think of is that there may be bolts hidden under the skid surface on the footrests. I just had to take my bolens apart and there were some under there and some in the middle section under a big sticker.

Thanks, I'll pull them up and take a peek.
