I have a YM240D with a Yanmar 240 loader. Had the hoses changed to the loader control spool. Now it seems different than it used to. I cant remember what it did when which lever was moved. All I can remember is inside lever moved bucket and outside did boom. Does anyone know what should happen with each lever. IE inside lever when placed forward should bucket curl up or dump?
Outside lever pushed forward, should boom go up or down?

On my YM240:

Inside lever: Pull, lift. Push, down. Push some more, float.

Outer lever: Curl back, curl forward.

I thought this configuration was industry-standard. But I've been wrong before - as some of the regulars here will point out if I don't. :D

OK this has gotten more complicated. My outside lever when pulled has boom go down, then when pulled further goes into float. So it would appear my machine is backwards.

Is it possible your whole control valve got turned around, sounds like it would be like California's if it was turned around. Not sure what difference all this makes unless it's just something you are used too.

I have the same tractor and the loader operates identical to California's. Sounds like maybe the hoses got shuffled around during replacement?

If his hoses got shuffled the float would still be different or am I thinking crooked? Still sounds like valve turned around.

Agree.

If float was in upper left and now is in lower right, the only way this could happen is if the control valve was rotated 180 degrees before it was bolted down.
