HydrauLink- a self-contained air over hydraulic top link

In time it will but yes I didnt expect she could have turned and weighed it but it would seem that there would be some sort of inhouse request for it to be done, If they sell any they will need to know the info anyways..I guess they are just a modern company run.

Thanks for the prompt action. Once you know when the s/h gets worked out, post and I'll place the order. I'm looking forward to giving it a try!

Cheers!

Ok... I have spoken with them and it's fixed sort of. Call to order for now until this is worked out completely. At first, they still quote $38.50 for shipping by default BUT they quoted me $12.92 via UPS when I pointed out their website shows it to weigh only 13lbs
( Hydraulink Self Contained Top Link).

They are working through the problem in the system now. If you have any more problems, don't hesitate to contact us directly. We're glad to work with our vendors and customers alike.

Now I'm curious, As to why you don't make it available directly to the TBN members here. Like the Pats Quick Hitch and many of the other advertised things on here?
Is it your not set up to handle orders?
Admittedly For me its no problem to deal through Agri-Supply.(they are a great comopany ) But I believe Pats Quick Hitch was offered her to members for a discounted price..

Actually it's strange you should bring that up. TBN has approached us about carrying the product online as well. We're talking with them about it...how they want to handle it and so on. However, to be fair ASC is also offering a discounted price :)

FYI, the problem online has been corrected. They updated the item and included the price of shipping in it. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help.

I don't know why you'd want the "shock absorber" effect? If you want to dig firmly with the blade of your box blade, isn't the shock absorber effect going to reduce your blade's "diggin" power, or downward force?

This would seem to be giving your box blade a Cadillac ride, when I think in most cases it actually needs a tank ride. Was this done because HydrauLink isn't strong enough to handle a tank ride?
This device is a standard hydraulic cylinder with a bypass valve to allow adjustment. The challenge the manufacturer faced was to try an make an "advantage" out of the necessity to have some air in the system to allow for the volume the rod displaces while retracted. I have no doubt that the designer would have preferred that the link lock solid when the valve is closed but to keep the design simple and a closed system, that is not possible.

So we have the supposed advantages of the "cushioning effect". This is hokum. A three point lift is designed to ride up and down even with a fixed top link... and can be raised and lowered using the lower arms. The undesirable effect of the "air cushion" is to add imprecision to setting the angle of the implement.

So those of you that believe that the air is there for a purpose that is intentional and beneficial have been misled by the marketing hype. It is there because the link would be hydraulically locked and could not be adjusted without it. It in fact detracts from the benefit of the device.

Not really an endorsement, but I can see why you'd want some limited flexibility in the top link. Gosh, we even have implements that are designed with flexible links, either to allow better ground-following or to save stress on either the implement bracing or tractor connection point. The HydrauLink would seem to aid in both these cases. Too bad there is not a feature to lock down the link so there is NO flexibility when wanted. For me, I'd appreciate the flexibility for:

RFM mowing
Brush hogging
Disking
Maybe even plowing

After seeing the video, I can assure you the "cusion" effect of the HydrauLink is not enough to take the place of a floating top link in the case of bush hogging. You will still need to use your floating mechanism. While the floating top link mechanism (I say mechanism because some use a chain instead of the factory float) is in use, there is probably not enough force on the HydrauLink to cause it is "cusion".

I'm not real sure what purpose the "cusion" serves. It isn't enough to really do anything.

I just got through unleashing in another thread because I just realized how it seems like the same naysayers seem to be hammering these guys without even having seen or tried one of these things. I bought one about a month and half ago. Now I'll freely admit that I'm a novice tractor operator but at least I can speak from experience and not just spout off.

In the short time that I've used my hydraulink, it has worked just fine for me. I have no intention of returning mine. It's been great. Is it a hydraulic toplink? Sort of. But they say that on their website if people would bother to read it. I know it said it on the flyer I got at the demonstration. Does it do everything I need it to do? Yes.

I'm sure I'll get flamed now but I don't care. This is ridiculous.

I agree with you regarding the naysayers, I bet the same guys would have laughed at Edison when he tried to light up the night with light bulbs

I am not going to flame you, I wish I had a few extra bucks to be able to try one, but I am working on a set of pallet forks first
