After seeing the video, I can assure you the "cusion" effect of the HydrauLink is not enough to take the place of a floating top link in the case of bush hogging. You will still need to use your floating mechanism. While the floating top link mechanism (I say mechanism because some use a chain instead of the factory float) is in use, there is probably not enough force on the HydrauLink to cause it is "cusion".
I'm not real sure what purpose the "cusion" serves. It isn't enough to really do anything.
Yes, I agree that the cushion effect is not adequate to take the place of a floating top link. I did not mean to imply that. Instead, what I was saying is that folks were claiming the need for a rigid connection (apparently in all cases) and I was arguing that such is often not necessary or maybe even desireable. The floating top link was just one example of such a case/
Even with a floating top link however, like the small one on my RFM, it sometimes is bottomed/topped-out and so a little cushion (and thus more flexibility) would still be advantageous.
