I have found out 1 thing about women after 45 years of marriage to the same wonderful woman. When they tell you something or explain something to you, There is almost always a hidden agenda hidden in there somewhere. It takes some serious thinking on my part to break it down. Ken Sweet

just asked me what I was doing. I'm hammering away on the keyboard. I stopped, looked at her and said, "I just told a guy how to dig a hole with a shovel." She stops, considers for a few moments, shakes her head, and walks away kinda chuckling to herself. She obviously doesn't get it. But then, she doesn't ask that much any more either

Yeah now that's funny right there... I don't care what anyone says.

When she paused and walked away chuckling it was a que that no further explanation was needed. Same with why all the guys are drawn to a bonfire. All good women understand that guys sometimes (oftentimes?) do things that defy logical explanation and accept that. I have been very happily married to a good woman for 27 years and know when she is interested in really hearing more about what I'm doing and when she not. Vice versa with her doings. This is a real relationship, real life. Nothing more than that. Long drawn out scientific dissertations to answer "what'cha doin'?" are NOT typically needed or wanted. Trust me... I'm an engineer married to a non engineer gal. Brief direct answers to questions and don't blabber on with your scientific, technical jibberish is a good approach most of the time

Yep.. they usually want enough info so they can decide if you are doing something you shouldn't be doing or if you 'need' something else to do.

Been married to the same wonderful woman long enough to know a few things myself. I went to a few weddings recently and gave the groom some advice.

1) Happy wife, happy life!
some of you might wonder about this one, but there are many ways to achieve this. some men just do whatever the wife says. They were already called out earlier... I choose to support my wife in her hobbies, same as she does mine. We love to spend time together, but we do things apart also. We learn to laugh at each others 'quirks' and enjoy each other.

2) Regardless of who pays the bills, always treat money as ours, not his or hers.

This thread reminds me of a saying "just drop the quarter!". It refers to a quarter that someone uptight is holding between their xxxx cheeks. My daughters have a similar saying. They refer to someone making diamonds by squeezing a lump of coal in a similar way.

I know some folks that don't seem to ever have any friends that they get along with. Turns out the man likes to "teach" folks a lesson and is always "testing" people. It turns out that he had a tough childhood, learned some hard lessons in the military and graduated from the 8th grade. He is constantly trying to "prove" he knows more....

I first heard that concept in the movie 'Ferris Buehler's Day Off' in which Ferris referred to his friend Cameron as "...being so uptight that you could shove a lump of coal up his *** (butt) and two hours later you'd have a diamond." Sadly, many of these women had loser fathers and the circle continues on. I watched it with my step sister, her father was a jerk and that seems to be all that she is attracted to. One bad relationship after another and most involve some sort of a drug. Me, having him around as an angry alcoholic just pushed me away from that whole drug thing. I like a drink now and then but have only been drunk once when I was young (and not enough to puke) and have never tried other drugs.

Even your mother is female first and mother second. Prove? She will fight your wife or your sister for the control over you or your son.
