I was curious what your thoughts are on this video

Am I paranoid or do you think this is a real problem?

Good video, although we cannot "see" the shaking nor "feel" it, so we take your word for it. Curious. At what RPM do you mow anyhow? I know I mow with my RFM at 3000.

I assume you've removed the plastic deck covers and
checked that the pulley bolts are all tight and the spring is taut ?
If the set-up was out of wack , the vibration would show up
well before the 2200rpm.

Well, I'm no BX expert, but compared to my B series MMM that deck sounds rather strange - especially at the lower speeds. Like something may be loose or out of balance. Just my 2 cents.

1. I would be willing to say that the drive line u joint(s) are out of time.

2. Buy a front grill guard and the full compliment of suitcase wieghts to cancel out the motor shake.

3. The three cylinder mule is bolted directly to the frame and it has no isolation with motor mounts(none there period), and the tires simply add to the resonance, plus the mower adds even more.

Crank up the RPM's when you mow. A BX is suppose to mow at or near full throttle. I've noticed I will get a little bit of vibration in my BX2350 mower deck belt at about those same RPM's that your are talking about. I just rev it up past that point. I wouldn't worry about it.

The engine mounts have rubber spacers . Linearx's engine
doesn't appear to shake when revving at 1800 rpm before deck engagement ..........

Here's an idea - Warm up the tractor BEFORE you turn the video camera on - That way the people you arre asking for help don't have to sit there for 3 minutes.

The dealer said it isn't anything to worry about just mow at 3000rpm. I'm fine doing that. However, because the tractor is brand new and in the break-in period I was just conflicted about the manual stating that I shouldn't run it full throttle until after the first 50 hours. My plan is to run for about an hour at 3000 then throttle down for awhile, disengage MMM, then repeat.

My other issue was low transaxle fluid (not on dipstick) which I'll post at some point.

For this tractor, and the BX series, the motor is not mounted directly to the frame and is on rubber mounts

When the BX is used primarily for mowing during breakin, it is difficult to vary one's speed, as 3000 is needed. I wouldn't scream it all the way to 3200. If you mow in low as I do, 3000 is plenty fast enough to get a quality cut.

You'll have to find a way to put some hours on it at lower RPM. What joy!! I find that an engine, especially a diesel, like to really pull hard, as in pulling a disk, a rake, a box blade, a snow plow, something to push it hard during break-in. A few hours of this kind of thing at RPM between 2200-2600 will do it wonders. Reving along with no work pull on it (or worse, idling) isn't ideal.

As for the low fluids, sadly, this is almost SOP on Kubotas delivered. The front axles particularly work out air pockets. Check it frequently for a month. As for the HST being low, dealer prep is sometimes shaky, imho.
This leads me to doing my own service maintenance as per schedule and avoid the inconvenience of transport and the very high service fees.

As I understand it, the vibration starts when the mowing deck is engaged. If this is the case I would remove the mowing blades on the deck and check for balance. Checking for balance on a mowing deck blade is simple, if you have a vise, place a bolt in the vise and place the mounting hole in the blade on the bolt. The heavy end will fall. Remove blade material from the heavy end until each blade hangs level. In the absence of a vise, drive a large nail into a tree or other non moving support.

I have gone through two belts on my deck in about 175 hours of mowing on my BX. I've noticed my belt almost has a resonance(sp?) at certain RPM's, and flops around quit a bit, but I don't really feel a strong vibration. Like someone else suggested, check blade ballance, and also check to make sure the pulleys and all the bolts are tight on the deck. Some people have reported the pulley bolts or spindle bolts working loose on their decks.

I got a new bx2660 nearly a year ago. The salesman went thru checking all the fluid levels with me. All showed to be full.

I read about the front end fluid level getting low on this forum, so I went out and checked mine. Sure enough it was not even showing on the stick. I don't recall the hours but I'm sure it was less than 20.

Sure glad someone pointed this out.

Hard to tell from the video but you do seem to have more vibration than may be normal - again hard to tell without feeling it personally. Mine will noticeably vibrate from about 2,000 RPM up to about 2,700 or even 2,800 then smooth out real nice. When it was new, I mowed at around 2,800 to stay below max RPM but high enough to not vibrate too much and to get an even cut. I would, if I were you, check the bolts and belt and perhaps remove and check the balance of the blades just in case. Good luck and have fun breaking it in.

And as far as sitting through the video warm up time, I just fast forwarded through it while enjoying the flashing views of your new BX:laughing:
