Oops! It's a squirrel, not a rat!

I had head good things about the 5gal bucket and bird seed, too. I set one right against the tree they were climbing up and down (red squirrels) and didn't catch one. I also put some rat poison in peanut butter and stuck it in the wood hole they were gnawing through and they started chewing in a different spot. Then my neighbor told me that he heard a squirrel will throw up poison if it eats it... anyway, nothing a .410 shotgun with a laser sight couldn't fix. Ive been looking at air rifles though, just for the heck of it.

I've thought about getting a .177 and this one looks good to me.

Got a better look in better light, chased it around the garage, it's a squirrel.

Now, how to get rid of squirrels? Don't know the species, but it's not a big gray, more like a medium sized critter, certainly bigger than a chipmunk.

I just got this little squirrel trap from Harbor Freight 4 days ago for $4.99 and already I caught 4 squirrels with it. :thumbsup: I use pecans for bait.

My medium size trap is too large to catch squirrels but I store them in it until I get enough to bring off.
