The more I see of the bolted hangers the better I like the spring tensioned shakles on my lawn genie-

Can you post a photo and measurements?

As noted a while ago, Alamo HD forged knives from flailmaster are exact duplicates of the Caroni B knives at half price but we are still stuck buying the ?metric clevis from Agrisupply at $6 each.

Yes I can do that as soon as I get in front of it tommorow, if the weather has not taken a total dump in the turd hearse-raining and raining now and I only mowed four days ago. Thank goodness I got the trimming done on the five acres.

Would it bother you guys if I asked you to to support my dealer here by buying the shackles and parts -springs/washers nuts from them?
If thats something you are all interested in doing? They are great folks with a family farm with a parts and service business as well as farm supplies, small feed mill.

They accept master card and visa and ship ups when required.

FYI the smaller spring shackle has a nine sixteenth nut(Box end wrench size/spanner size) to lock it in place.

Oh and the larger grass and shredder knives have the same type of spring tension shackle and I will get those sizes too

My dad has one now that I've used. You're right, it's great!

Edit: I've since changed my settings & see "only" 25 pages

If any of you has a minute to yourselves could you measure and post the size of the knife hangers for the Caroni F rotor

weldment height
weldment length across the flat
space between weldments
distance from inside hood edge to the first hanger

whoopsie - I forgot to ask for the metric hanger hole diameter

metric measurement length is fine

thanks much

You know whats even funnier steve? an Alamo salesman telling me towed motorised flailmowers are unsafe. I will not be buying any of the chinese flail
motorised mowers or the PTO flail mowers offered by Northerntool- no way No way in HE** would I allow those things on my property.

I remember what he was blatting saying someone carrying a passenger on an ATV could fall off and go under the mower.

The statement rang hollow with me for sure.

Yes... I think he would have a better chance catching his tie in the office paper shredder while he bent over to pick up his winning lottery ticket...

I've read most/ all of this thread over the past few months but can't remember if anyone has successfully changed out their Caroni TM1900's OEM knives for hammers?

If so, where did you get the materials (hammers, shackles, bolts, nuts, anything else)?

And, how did it work out?

I noticed in Land Pride's catalog their smaller/ lighter flails have knives, & only their biggest flail has hammers. This would seem to imply that high(er) HP is needed for hammers? (I have 40.5 HP total/ 31.5 PTO HP)

I'm not looking to cut anything larger than the OEM knives can cut, just looking for an even smoother lawn cut. It's pretty darn good as-is, but it would seem that hammers, with their horizontal blade, would cut more uniformly than the angled OEM knives.
