Being somewhat disabled and not being able to turn my head around 180 degrees, I hated the thought of a new rear three point snowblower. I was not looking forward to weekly visits to my Chiropractor. I mounted a SPEECO Category 1 Quick Hitch in the bucket of the front loader, installed a hydraulic reservoir in front of the radiator, a hydraulic motor drive for the blower, and a PTO mounted hydraulic pump. I can blow snow looking forward and have height control using the loader controls. As it is only September 2010, I wont be able to test it until December. Requests for pictures should be sent to vayidaho@gmail.com. Will respond when tested and approved. Blowing snow in the panhandle of Idaho south of SandPoint, north of Spirit Lake. Tom

Would you post some pics on TBN showing your new rig?
We like pics and sounds like you have a clever design and approach.

Sounds like a winner!

I've thought of doing something similar but run the blower with a hydraulic motor connected to the power beyond.

Sounds ingenious!
Love to see it.

Would be good to see some pictures if you can post them. I'm a bit leary receiving email with attachments to open from someone I really don't know.

Sounds like you also saved some $$ here.

A similar upgrade to mine more than doubled the cost over keeping it on the rear - about a $2000 option to mount it on the front.

Not gonna be powerful enough. I went through the steps and calculations on a 10HP chipper shredder and 7gpm wasn't enough flow. The snowblower is gonna need 15+HP from the same.

All i know is MI and E has done 7ft blowers off of the pto of the tractors and done well with it.

Right, you're talking about a PTO pump with reservoir. I'm referring to MD talking about a hydraulic motor run from the tractor's pump. Different setups.
