Used prices-might as well buy new?

just curious...if someone was going to pay cash for the same tractor that another person was financing at 0%...would the bottom line prices be the same...not sure but I don't think so...

It may depend on the make of the tractor. On my Kubota there was no difference between a cash price and a financed price.

I got mine $1500 cheaper by paying cash. I did not mention cash until the price was established on a finance basis.

Now there is a whole debate on paying cash or leaving your money invested, so all aspects should be considered.

It probably also depends on each individual dealer. For me the net was the same, they didn't care as they ended up with the same amount from JD, cash, bank loan etc.

I wanted a tractor for many years before I could afford one. I searched high and low and the decision was to buy one that is older (at least 5 years but more like 10 plus) or one that is brand new. As was mentioned and you have seen, slightly used is still too close to new.

I bought new, but at the same time if my budget was different I would have got a much older tractor with a good reputation for reliability.

Good luck!

It's my understanding that cash does not make a difference many times to the dealer because it's the Mfgr. that's doing the financing. I tried the cash routine with the dealer's and none would budge. I did find some dealers willing to sell for less on the same model and even throw in some extra at that.
