Oil & Fuel First trip to dealer and they give me the wrong part!

Wasn't your Yanmar made in a Siberian toy factory, :)?
It came from the Yanmar assembly line that built John Deere's under-50hp tractors for 20 years! :D

I like to think the exact model I have, this US export version of their home market tractor, was so good that it spooked Deere into simply contracting with Yanmar rather than attempting to design their own smaller tractors in-house. Deere recognized instantly that they had been beaten in their own back yard. :D:D:D

I'm kidding about 'Chinese'. Murky, sludgy OEM fluids was a common complaint in the Chinese tractor threads a few years back. Mahindra is known for much better quality than that. I wonder if the bad filter indicates sabotage just before repo man showed up, or possibly refueling from an old farm tank full of algae. In any case if I had that I would check the other fluids too.

And I did. It is just the fuel. I believe basicly from sitting. I will keep an eye on it though.

Often a black fuel filter is indicative of microbes in the fuel. That comes from water contaminated fuel, likely if the tractor sat a long time outdoors.
I'd drain the tank and see what you get, if the fuel is dark, I'd ditch it and clean the tank, add some diesel biocide and start fresh. Probably ought to keep several of those filters on hand until they quit turning black.
