2012 5065E fuel pump question

I’ve not had the issue with my Deere’s but I believe theirs a fine screen/ filter in your tank that your fuel supply line hooks to. I don’t think it’s to much of a job to extract it from the outside and clean or replace it.

Thanks. I'll look for it.

It seems odd to me that there isn't another filter or screen of some kind before or after the main fuel filter.

Some have that strainer and some do not. Here is schematic of one that does not.

On the earlier tractors for sure there is a strainer in the tank outlet. Some are part of the fitting, some are totally separate depending on age, serial numbers ETC. Its not hard to remove, just a "drain the tank" project.

That looks like it. I haven't messed with it yet; I just looked for it last night when I got home and saw it. I'm not sure how it works, it's very odd looking.

It's taken me longer then I expected to do this because it would run fine for just putting a round bale out, but I just got a load of hay and I wasn't able to move it all without the tractor dying on me. It felt like it ran out of fuel, and then I would have to pump the primer after letting it rest before it would start again.

I did a YouTube search for the screen in the fuel tank and was able to see what the issue was. I removed the screen in my fuel tank and it was totally blocked by scum. I cleaned it off and put it back in, and the tractor runs great!!!!!

When it happens again, I think I'm going to through the screen away and install an inline fuel filter with a valve that is easier to remove without draining all the fuel in the tank. That was a mess!!!!
