That being said, I am not against wearing one. I wear one while driving my Titan. However, I do think that with the improvements made in air-bag technology, the "click-it or ticket" is a bit much. The decision should not be mandated, especially when the number of people pulled and ticketed seems to vary depending on the financial needs of the entity issuing the tickets.
I definitely agree with the statement about it should not be mandated. People do have a right to live their lives, even if those decisions have dire repercussions.
However, the bolded section....those airbags work best when the person is restrained in a position to maximize the airbag's protection. Also, airbags don't have the same protection in a side collision. So, seat belts are necessary...although it should not be an offense to not use them.
