Comparison The new LS / New Hollands are around

No way man. I'm right with you. The Korean LS compacts are a HUGE step backwards for CNH. The product is not the same quality tractor that we've had. Its going to cause some problems for us since anyone with a TC who wants to upgrade won't ever consider one of these. We where always under the impression that they where not profiting off that business even with their inflated pricing. I do see the sense if this though, what they where doing was not working, it was time for change.

Now what will be intersting to me is if/when we will see the TC compacts sold to a different company. I am not sure that CNH owns the engineering & tooling on those tractors.

Couldn't agree more, Neil.

What will also be interesting is what happens to parts availability and pricing of Shibaura parts within the CNH network in the next 3-5 years. Think about what happened to SMC loader parts pricing and availability when that deal ended.

at least they have donw some improvements to the design vs LS standard or any of the other colors LS tractors, one that jumped out to me was the deluxe 3pt hitch, the others do not offer that, death to supersteer though?

I'm not all that worried just yet. First of all, this was a limited purchase of LS tractors for New Holland. Second off, these LS tractors have not replaced the whole Boomer lineup. Third, I haven't heard of Case/IH getting any LS tractors so I'm willing to bet that Shibaura parts prices will not be significantly affected. Lastly, in my case I have a cab tractor, and as far as I'm concerned I never want to own anything but a cabbed tractor. I haven't heard anything about New Holland changing production on the cab tractors, and my dealer didn't seem to think that it was going to happen either. I am a little disappointed by the way that some of this has rolled out, but I'm really not going to lose sleep over it. I think in the end NH will find a way to keep everyone happy and maybe even swell their bottom line a little bit.

I stated earlier that the New Holland dealer here in Conover is located about 1 mile from the Massey / Kubota dealership. The Massey / Kubota dealership just took on LS a couple of months ago. It's gonna be interesting to see what price difference there will be in the two lines. I've got to believe that the LS tractors will be lower priced than their NH brethren. This is not good for NH. Their reputation for dependability from the Shibaura line was unquestioned.

There were two of the new LS-built New Hollands in my neighborhood yesterday afternoon. My neighbor has a flatbed truck and hauls a lot of equipment. He had a Boomer 40 and a Boomer 50 on his truck yesterday. This was my first look at the new design. I did not climb around on them because I didn't want to be disrespectful. My initial impression was that they are indeed a step backward. The proof is in the driving and the pricing, I guess.

I saw a couple of these LS tractors last week here in NC. They seem to be "cheaper" than the TC line of tractors that were available when I bought my TC 35A. I would not trade my TC 35 for one of these LS models.

I have been thinking about a new, larger tractor that is larger than my TC35A, but I would not be interested in one of these LS tractors. I am not sure what market CNH is targeting with these LS tractors.

With so many people marketing LS machines, McCormick, Montana, New Holland and now LS themselves, maybe even someone else, is anyone doing any "value added"? In other words, is anyone polishing them up, refining them, making one "version" of an LS a better buy than another?

Curious.

My pop always said that no matter how hard you try - you can't put a shine on a turd.
