So does the JD Ultragard cover this type of damage?
it states:
UltraGard is no-hassle, immediate coverage that provides protection for damage caused by severe weather, vandalism, overturn, collision or theft.
Damage resulting during box blading does not fall under any of these catagories...???

I would think that it could be counted as a collision by a very creative warranty claim writer.

That's exactly what worries me,

if the creativity is not there then neither is the coverage....

They covered a barn collapsing on my tractor from snow load.

It's great insurance BUT it's for the period of a loan with them. For example I have a 36 mos. zero percent loan on my new tractor like a lot of people do and the insurance is about $185 for the entire period if I remember.
I don't think you can get the insurance without the loan.

I just called JD and inquired about coveage for this accident. The rep (Paul) said that this is an "all peril" coverage and this accident would have been covered. You also do have the option of continuing the coverage after the tractor is paid off.

When you satisfy your loan, you can continue this same great coverage with SentryGuard Physical Damage Insurance.

I noticed that that blade has almost as much metal to it as the whole rest of the tractor . They dont make them like that anymore. :)

Yeah I have no idea how old that thing is, but it has to be at least 20 years old. It's going on craigslist next week and I'm going to buy a Frontier or Woods scraper.

Thanks for the link to the UltraGard insurance. Maybe some of us can benefit from your misfortune.

That's great news PT! I wonder if the rates are higher after the loan is paid. I do have insurance on implements, ztracs, etc. but the cost is about $190.00 a year, the Deere ins. is much cheaper.

Bolts are good...but Tractor Supply sells lynch pins that have twice the spring pressure of the standard (gold colored) ones. The heavy duty lynch pins are black, BTW. If you buy any, do not get your fingers between the loop and pin!!

:thumbsup::laughing:
