I have a 5 Yardlight that is on a GFI and just before I get to the light I have a underground splice that goes up and through the center of the concrete foundation to the Eye and Lights.. For years that 120V GFI connection has gave problems due to moisture around the connection. Is there a small device available that I can make up my connections, enclose them and have them be waterproof once and for all? Ken Sweet

Water well wiring splices. They heat shrink and have a sealer in them also.

I used to just use good quality electrical tape. 3M brand, forget which type but it's like $5/roll.

Use a bare butt-connector and good quality crimpers. Crimp it good. Hold the line tight, have somebody hold it while you tape. Start right at the splice, round and round, back and forth. Make sure the tape lays flat and is tightly wound. When you've got a nice little taper that goes from wire to 2-2.5x the diameter of the wire then back down it's probably good. Mine will hold 100+ feet underwater.

You can buy a heat-shrink kit also if you have the heat gun etc. The tape method always worked well for me.

Good luck.

We've used ordinary butt connectors filled with wet RTV silicone before the wires were put in place and crimped. When it cured it was 100% waterproof.

That was for 12v stuff, 120v might not meet building code, so be careful.

Here is what I have been using, It is a hollow compression type isolator that eventually lets water in after a few months. I could not find the Tyco Powergel Wraparound in stock at Home Depot or online anywhere. I did find it on Ebay and may consider that one. The silicone tape sounds like interesting. Ken Sweet
