Return of Lincoln pickup truck?

Yep. My son has a condo in a gated development. The HOA won't allow pickups to park overnight on the property. So I have to move the F150 outside the gate after dark when I visit.

I refuse to live like that, know what you mean.
Fla. is filled with those types of developments. They come down real hard on loose chickens also.
Except the ones that go around all day saying "yes dear, yes dear "

I am just a redneck but I consider my 09 F150 to be a luxury vehicle. Anything with cooled seats and voice activated functions is a luxury vehicle in my book. Actually if all body panels match and the AC works it would be a luxury vehicle.

We think our '01 Ranger and '02 Crown Vic are luxury vehicles, too, but I don't guess those HOA rules would. Our youngest daughter and her husband bought in one of those developments, but at least they don't have any such restrictions on your vehicls. Five years ago when we were looking for a house to buy, we looked at two new ones that we liked and would have bought either one if it hadn't been for being in one of those places with a HOA. I just simply would not buy in one of those. So instead we bought a little house that was built in 1991 in a neighborhood without a HOA. However, we keep both our vehicles in the garage anyway.

In 2005, when I owned my truly last Ford truck, a 150 Lariat SuperCrew(power sliding rear window, power moon roof, premium sound system, leather uphoulstry, etc, etc), a friend's daughter bought a Lincoln pick-up. As near as I could tell, they were identicle with the exception of the grill and tail lights. Once inside the truck, you couldn't tell which vehicle you were in, and they were priced about the same;Way To Much :confused2:

I guess parking my tractor out front is out of the question.

A few years ago I was traveling around Florida with a number of friends (fellow memebers of my Red Knights chapter) on our motorcycles. I have a Victory, there were a few H-D's, a Goldwing and a couple of other cruisers mixed in. All were in great shape and looked great.

My cousin lives in a gated community just ouside Miami, and she invited all of us to stay at her place for a few days. After the first night, she got a phone call complaining about the bikes in her driveway. The next night, we had to leave the Ferrari and Benz in the driveway so we could squeeze all the bikes in the garage.

The Ferrari was probably worth more than all the bikes together.

We left on the third day.

Go figure.

That's funny, I haven't seen or heard the word "hoopie" since my RD in college. Come to think about it he was from Beaver too.

My wife and I looked at a house with some crazy deed restrictions some time ago. They were over the top. I'm fairly certain the neighbors are required to shave on the weekend before they are permitted to get the morning paper.

We just build a house, out in the sticks. We have a neighbor whose property is less than tidy. But, He built it, paid for it and lives there. Who am I to tell him how to live his life. I'll be damned if I let my neighbors determine my home color or how high my grass is. Most people are reasonable, but, all it takes is one @ss#ole to ruin everything

Yup..My GMC 1500 4x4 is a luxury vehicle to me too...All panels are the same color and the air works.

A friend of mine lives in one of those stupid estate plans. He had a 79 Dodge 3/4 ton that was ugly as sin. He used it for general homeowner stuff. The pompus neighbors complained when he left it in the driveway, and the HOA made him keep it in the garage.

He brought it over and I restored it for him at his wife's direction to make it more acceptable to the neighborhood (color change, shiny paint, new wheels etc)....Whatever. Those idiots never complained again.

I'm perfectly happy to live like a hoopie...No neighbors to complain about stuff like this..Some people need to quit worrying about what the neighbor is doing and mind their own business.

I would have to really love someone if I had to hide my truck to visit.

One of those communities built across the road from me, so now I tend to mow right up until dark and typically save my mowing along the road til last so they get to hear my eXmark until I finish

And in the early summer I ran the Bobcat out there almost every evening until dark working on a project I had going on

I am sure they loved me

I wouldn't live like that. I bought and paid for my house. It's mine not the banks or anyone else's. So I make my rules. I have some less than organized neighbors too, but my neighbors are at least 500 yards away.
I like that project lilRanch.
