I parked my plow truck last winter, the snow gets too deep and then no where to push it. This is what we use now and it's great.

Beautiful rig. I love my New Holland but red is my favorite color so I'm really partial to my Case/IH twins too. If you don't mind my asking what does a front mount snow blower setup go for on a tractor like yours? I've got basically the same tractor as yours but in blue (NH Boomer with cab) and am looking at a blower of some sort in the future, however the pricing on the NH website depending on which options are necessary has me thinking that the rear mount would be the way I'll want to go. Thanks, and again nice rig.

With the help of this group, my new weaponry for this year is a Bobcat S185 Turbo, High Flow with a 73" Erskine ES2410 blower. I'll be clearing about 1 mile of single lane road of 500" of annual snowfall. My blower should be about ready to be loaded on to a truck for delivery here about the end of next week. I'll post some pictures once I get it here and onto the Bobcat. For an idea of what 500" of snowfall ends up looking like:

Thanks. The blower was around 4,400+-. It was more the a rear mount but I have a long drive way and I take care if my parents and mother in laws place also. It's to much backing up for me to do with a rear mount and we get alot of snow. The case and new holland are great tractors and the cabs are the best. The snow blower and its frame are made very well.

Roger good for you helping out your neighbors. :thumbsup: I have a rear 64" Frontier blower on order that should arrive any day now. Will post picture. Driveway is 900 feet, narrow, and gravel. Been using front blade for several years. It works okay until heavy snow then it builds up on the sides with no place to push it. Hopefully the blower will solve the problem.

rekees4300: Be sure the gravel is well packed before snow falls. Take it from me, a blower will move that stuff where you didn't think possible. What I used to do before my drive was paved was leave the shoes on the blower so it rode a bit off the gravel. After a couple of storms the gravel was covered over and a nice layer of packed snow covered everything. Then I would remove the shoes so it would run on top of the packed snow. It looked really nice.

What amazes me more than anything is watching the snow pile the plow operator left at the end of the drive disappear as you're pushing through it and being deposited 40 to 50 feet away. With the heater I have in the cab, I remove my heavy coat and work with the sleeves of my sweatshirt rolled up. Life is good! Roger

To get snow, we will have to travel to the mountains (the Alps). These are the only weapons I intend to use with my family.

Roger, with a heated cab and paved driveway your life is good indeed! The Frontier blower has adjustable shoes so I'm going to set to the highest level and also shorten the top link to elevate the cutting edge. Hopefully that technique will limit the gravel pickup. If not then I'll explore using casters. Not sure the packed snow tip would work around here since the snow tends to become ice after being packed. Guess our temperatures and/or snow type are warmer/wetter than N.H.? Driveway also has hills, get ice on them and even my tractor in 4WD is useless without chains. Got chains last year after using pick axe to manually chop a path up a hill so the tractor had enough traction to make it. Not fun.

Here's a picture of mine.
I have a power window motor hooked up to rotate the chute from inside the cab.
I picked up a hitch mounted salt spreader but have not had chance to make a mount for it yet.
My drive is about 1000 feet all on a hill.

That's beautiful! Where do you ski in the Alps? With the trees in the background it doesn't look like Val d' isere or three valleys. I've skied in Austria but with the value of the dollar I won't be skiing the Alps anytime soon. I'll have to be happy with the Rocky Mountains.

Hey Roy,
I built my rig based on Northern Maine's design but altered it by moving the plow pivot point back under the Quick Attach plate. By doing that, the plow is 15 inches closer to the tractor. For me, it makes it a much more compact unit. The beauty of this design is that the weight of the FEL arms have no bearing on plowing. The only weight on the ground is the weight of the plow.

My weapon of choice, put my old Ariens GT19 with a 48" blower to shame. No chains, no weight box. Traded the tractor in the spring for a BX25, kept the blower. Adding a linear actuator to the chute deflector, and trying come up with something for the chute rotator. The chute has only plugged twice, happens with warm ground, wet wet lake effect snow, and 10-20 air temp. Yes the guard on the chute was removed by me. At that time there was no seat safety shut off, you could get off the tractor with the snowblower running and adjust the chute deflector. Its not rocket science. Don't stick you hands in the chute or the auger when its running. It's one of life's rules of winter, don't go out on the ice flows on the Great Lakes, don't stick your hand in the chute of a running snow blower and don't buy a used truck that has been plowed..
We average 170" a year.

Not far from you. Here in Benton. Just posted a video of a dirtbike attempt at crossing the old narrow gauge in the bog.... FAIL.

i plowed my driveway for over 10 years on a jd770 with the bucket. i don't care how much you love your tractor - it's cold out there in january - especially if you have to plow in the middle of the storm. this one is much warmer

I just picked up an Arctic 8' skid steer plow for my M-7040. :thumbsup:
I want to put skid shoes on the Q/A mount plate. I think he did the same with his.
