I just purchased a 2004 L3400, 4WD with Industrial tires, the rear tire size is 15 x 19.5. This tractor is a replacement for an older Yanmar with 11.2 X 28 and I liked the larger diameter tires. Can I change to 11.2 x 24 and will this give me any advantage? Will I need to change the front tires/rims as well ? I take care of a mile long steep gravel road, snow blower, Rear blade snow removal, grading, etc. I have some really good chains.
Thanks,

With any 4WD, the tires have to be sized proportionally. If you go up or down in size on the front or back, you will need to make a corresponding change on the other end.

Yes you can use 11.2x24 rear tires but you must also use 7x16 front tires. yes it will improve traction and ground clearance. I to have these ag tires and mine are foam filled to prevent flats and add weight it adds about 1000lbs. over all four tires the foam is great for loader work because the front tires won't get all squirlly under a load and the rears are real heavy.
