i watched the video on the out of sight mole trap, an agree, it looks like it should work: a couple weeks ago i bought something kinda like that, at tractor supply, an set them out yesterday after looking at the video: i did look at traps at TSC again yesterday: an i think it was the out of sight trap i was looking at: $10 for 2 traps: i may pick them up an give them a try: gotta do something, they are taking over..

The Victor Out O Sight traps are usually around ten to twelve bucks a pop. I have 6 of them. If you can find them for less, grab them. :)

There are several brands that look similar to them in that they have two sets of jaws. Some are the kind you step on to set. I have tried about 5-6 different types of mole traps and the Out O Sight works the best, hands down. It rarely misses and it seems to kill faster than the Nash Choker Loop type traps. The Nash traps work equally as well as far as catching moles goes, but they do not seem to dispatch the mole quickly. I have come home several times to find the mole stuck in the choker loop traps, but dragging it across the yard or digging tunnels in circles trying to get out of the trap. It did not seem anywhere as humane as the Out O Sight. The moles were crippled and I had to dispatch them with a shovel whack on the head.

I have had less than half a dozen instances out of the 250+ successful trappings where the mole somehow got sideways in the Out O Sight trap and it pinched the fur on the side of the mole instead of grabbing it around the middle. On those instances, the mole seemed to be unharmed, just stuck. I take those to the woods and let them go to fight another day.

TSC had a revenge brand gopher trap, but it looks way to big for a mole trap: the traps i bought there recently, have a piece of metal the mole has to crawl over, to get to the trigger, an i just can't see them doing that: i do have them set, but doubt they will work: tried all the places in town that have any kind of mole or gopher traps, an no one has the victor out of sight trap: i will keep looking.

Gophers traps and mole traps are very different. You place gopher traps inside gopher burrows and you place mole traps ACROSS mole tunnels. And you never trap mole hills. Only mole tunnels. ;)

this was kinda funny: these traps are designed, so you put two in at a time, one facing each direction: well, the mole pushed them up an out of the tunnel: instead of crossing on top of the metal: so i found another section of tunnel, an this time i buried them, so there won't be any metal to crawl on: an we will see what happens: i am going past a home depot tomorrow, an according to their web site, they sell the victor out of sight trap: so i will pick one up an set it tomorrow evening:

i am trying to locate a place to buy carbide: as in the stuff we use to use for carbide lights: i figure a couple grains of that, in the tunnel an a little water should make a gas that would kill the moles...haven't located it yet, but only checked tractor supply so far
