Finally bought my dream truck: 2002 F250 Turbo Disel 7.3 Liter 156k miles Crew Cab. I can now haul my tractor with a gooseneck trailer! I'm in heaven.

How many clutches have you gone through?

I have a 2002 with a six speed. Got about 135,000 miles on the truck and still with the same clutch. Finally had to get new brake rotors a few weeks ago. :laughing:

Hey Dan. I got about 200,000. A lot of my miles are highway and no pulling. When I pull it's either a 32' horse trailer or 20' stock trailer. I was quite pleased with the clutch. No aftermarket gadgets either or clutch riding!:thumbsup:

:thumbsup: Me too. Except no pulling just hauling stuff. Mostly rural road driving, 72 miles a day with maybe 15 lights that I might hit. I know I have driven almost 20 miles before hitting a light.

I researched the clutch life years ago and people were getting anywhere from 70K to 160K with some getting into the 200K range. Most seemed to be around 130K. Kinda figured/HOPED that I might get to 160K or better.

I had to replace the hydraulic clutch pedal assembly a couple years ago but that is it. Tis about time to replace the tranny fluid.....

A little Marvel Mystery oil in the fuel will help protect and clean the injector system. Jy.

Great truck. I have the same truck, getting ready to turn 60,000 miles.

About ready to turn 200k in my 2001. I replaced the tranny at 130k, and clutch at the same time. (tranny - 6 speed with previous damage before I got it at 40K. I ran it with a clutch disc spring missing for 90K miles before I lost the mainshaft.) The clutch had been soaked in diesel twice, due to loose fuel cover, and once with oil from a loose plug on the HPOP. fuel cover my fault both times. I still would not hesitate to get in that truck and go anywhere, anytime. I have a 24ft cargo trailer, and a bp 3 horse trailer I pull regularly. Do I double check the fuel filter cover every time now? yup...
