Looks like rack and pinion wheels. What size rear tires do you have?
I believe they are 18.4/34 from what I could make out.

Nice tractor
Shoup sells them, but they don't have the "4020" decal on them.

deerefan,
So you ordered a new set of rears? If so I would take the time to make sure the rims are in good shape and repainted before mounting the new tires. From the looks of them the wheels in the front are new replacements.
deerefan,
I would do the same and store the tires too. A little use and running time will expose any leaks that need fixing and other mechanical issues to resolve. That gives you time to gather the parts to renew the sheetmetal and trim.
You should be able to get alot of use from this tractor on 50 acres if you do very much with it. There is always an improvement to be made somewhere.![]()
I bought it mainly for 3 reasons. First, the loader. I need it to move some gravel and dirt to a few spots of erosion on the property. Secondly, I need to revamp my pastures this spring and will be pulling a 7 ft seed drill with it and need the rear remotes to run the drill. I will also be pulling a heavy spreader cart with it when I top dress my pastures. Last, I own 2 other tractors, a 2005 JD 5103 and a 1952 8N. I use these mainly for bushhogging and really hate swapping implements, especially in the dead heat of summer right in the middle of bushhogging season. It will be nice to be able to put my boxblade on the 4020 and leave it until spring. Also, its nice to have a backup to the 5103 if ever anything goes wrong. The sad thing is if I put 50 hrs a year on the 4020 I will be doing plenty. That is why buying an older tractor did not really bother me.
