Good example of the value of KTAC insurance

No, why would there be? If you are using the tractor for a business (which is about the only reason for liability coverage I can see) it should be covered under your business liability, KTAC has nothing to do with that sort of thing.
To protect you from law suits for damage caused by your tractor to others .

LB...Kubota insurance only covers the machine on or off your property for fire, theft, wreck damage, falling off of the trailer etc. Commercial policies cover liability for property damage to others. The main point is that homeowners generally only covers the machine on your property. As soon as you go over the prop line, you're on your own.

I really didnt reasearch the coverage. I discussed it with the garage personnel at the dealer and they said that they have never had a problem with coverage.

If you're BH'ing at your in-laws and blow a gas line. The tractor would be covered but the remains of the house wouldn't. Could be wrong, but that's my understanding.

Commercial policies for my BX run around 500-600 per year around here. Covering your machine through Kubota is a fraction of that. My RTV is covered by Kubota, My BX is not. I may be checking with them to see what they want to cover it.

Given the rates that they charge it seems to me that they consider Kubota buyers to be somewhat of a low risk. Initial investment cost attacting a certain type of person maybe...Who knows. Insurance charges for future risk. Given their rates, that risk must not be very high. Says something about all of us perhaps.

Most often with a business you carry a general liability policy that covers everything. No need to have a separate policy for each piece of equipment. If it's just for home use I don't know why you would want liability coverage anyways.

Everyone needs liability insurance whether you use your tractor for home or business. If your driving your tractor and get a bit inattentive and just sort of wipe the side out of your neighbors car which is sitting on the property line while you are watching the boxblade or tiller, you better have liability insurance. If your tractor rolls down the hill and hits your neighbor or his property, you better have liability insurance. I could give a few hundred examples but surely the point is made. Your actions on a tractor or car or whatever can cost you. Most states require car owners/drivers have liability coverage to cover the repairs caused to another person.
If you own a home you should have liability coverage which is covering you or your negligence on that property. It should be contained in the homeowners policy. If you borrow your neighbors tractor and wreck it, your liability coverage should cover it.
You do damage, your liable to pay for or fix the daamage. Has nothing to do with business, it can but not always. You tear it up or lose something loaned to you, your liable.
Everyone should have some type of liability insurance attached to some type of policy or a straight liability insurance policy.
I have a big rock on the hillside of my property. I've started to move it a couple of times and it is shaped to where it wants to roll. It probably weighs 300 to 350 lbs. I've gotten on the lower side of it and tried getting it into my bucket and it trys to get around the edge of the bucket and has scared the **** out of me a couple of times so I had just left it. Every time I drove by it, the thing would whisper, you chicken. I told Roy to move it when he was out doing some work for me on his skid steer. It almost got away from him (40 years experience in excavating business) and he also had a brown spot. He did get it moved but got his attention. If the rock had rolled down the hill and hit my neighbors house, car, truck, garage or neighbor, who would have paid when I was the one doing the moving?
Everyone needs liability insurance to pay for your mistakes or damages that appear to be caused by you.

What if... I only use my tractor out in middle of the woods and there is nothing but trees around that I own? I am going to get the KTAC insurance but I have an umbrella policy and I would think that would cover me if something would happen, but I don't see that ever coming up.

Kubota insurance has some other value added aspects as well. Break your little white HST fan on your BX? Pay only the $250 deductible. Not bad.

Smash up your tractor somehow, a tree limb fall across your hood, radiator, etc? Pay only the $250 deductible.

If I needed to trailer my machine to the dealer? Kubota will cover it while on the road, where my homeowners wouldn't and I didn't know about whether my auto policy would. Could've found out, I suppose.

Helping a neighbor, just off your property? Pretty common things in our neck of the woods. It's covered. Homeowner's? Nope.

Again, for me, I used homeowner's addendum last time. This time I used Kubota for the same amount of money. No brainer. For me. YMMV.

Not sure what your saying here. Umbrella policy that contains liability coverage then OK. I don't see that ever coming up...what coming up?
Usually no one sees an accident coming up or the varied uses for their tractor once they get it. I never thought I'd carry a couch up my drive way in the front bucket of a tractor, but I did.

I just got a quote on email from them to insure my tractor for $58 a year.

E-mail, huh! I requested a quote also and received an e-mail they'd send it. When I asked how I'd receive it they said it had to come US Mail. Makes sense in that if I accept their quote, I'd need to send paperwork back. They also said there were some options for me. We'll see.

My homeowners covers it, so they say, but I never quite got the warm an fuzzies since there was no additional cost and when I talked to the agent, she seemed to think it was just another lawn mower as in "why would you need evidence of insurance for one of those." I know for sure should I run a stick through the radiator, or like Neil's case, let loose a PTO shaft and crater the tranny, I won't be covered. So maybe the peace of mind of Kubota insurance will make sense when I see the quote. I do have an umbrella policy for added liability coverage, but I don't know if it covers me off my property, but I think it's pretty comprehensive.

Yep we emailed back and forth and then I called and started the insurance today from KTAC for $61 a year. That included my Trailer also. She said when I buy a Bush Hog I can add that also.
