How do you know if a post is removed? Does the moderator notify you?

Zork I had a thread removed and was not notified. All the posts on that thread were removed. Suspect individual posts work the same way. I made a new threads asking for an explanation and no one posted to it.

Most of the time you will be notified if a post of yours is removed. However, if your post was a reply to a post that was pulled, and yours got dragged down with it, you may not be notified. It all depends on how many posts were in the fracas, etc... If an entire thread gets removed, everyone will not get notified.

As for discussing the moderation policies on TBN... that is not allowed in the public forums. The rules are posted somewhere in the FAQ, I think. If at any time you have a question about moderation policy, you can PM the owners of TBN. Don't PM the moderators. They don't make the rules.

They may not make the rules, but they do a great job of helping us to stick to them. I'd have to say that 99% of the threads I've seen closed have had a very justifiable reason.

Thanks moderators. You keep us civil and allow us to voice our opinions. And most importantly keep the site fun and informative. I don't mind if I lose a post if it keeps the site like it is.

To be clear I was simply recounting my experience with my thread removed with no feedback. My post was in response to a question asked in the thread. I was NOT complaining about the moderation or the moderators!

If you want to see what can happen without moderation, go to any ATV/UTV forum and you'll see what I'm talking about. They are virtually unreadable.

"my stuff is superior, your stuff is slow, junk made for geezers etc"...5 Minutes and I'm done with those.

I've been deleted here too. And the one time it happened, I probably deserved it. Honestly I don't even remember what I said, but to maintan civility and informational purpose, pruning needs done. Don't take it personally.

This by far and away the best multi-purpose, informative and entertaining site on the net. The founder, moderators and the members make it so.

don't forget about mikee and bird ----they can stir pretty good themselves
