I am looking for a free downloadable service manual for a 40. I have one that needs alot of TLC. Help!!!

Doubt that you'll find a "downloadable" version. Mother Deere will be glad to sell you one, either on disc or paper. You might find one on Ebay or someplace like Yesterday's Tractors.

I never found one for free for my 40, but I did end up ordering mine from deerely departed John Deere Service Manual for the 40 Tractor SM2013, John Deere Manual for the Model 40

I think it ended up being $62 delivered. Its a very good manual. 400+ pages
