Winter Gloves/Mittens?

I don't have a pair of these, but I am considering getting a pair. I've read some articles on them and they sound like they're great gloves, they're called Mountain Hardware Jalapeno Gloves, a little expensive, but if they work then they're worth it.

Brown Jersy gloves inside 40 gram thinsulate giant size mittens.

Cheap, easy and the warmest my hands have been blowing snow. Untill I bought my Curtis Cab and heater for the JD 2305. Now I don't need gloves.

My wife loves to snowmobile but she has raynaud's syndrome which causes a loss of circulation in the extremities when you get cold. We tried a lot of different gloves and ended up with a pair of 12V electric gloves like these Gerbing's Heated Clothing // Heated Gloves which have heating elements that wrap the fingers and thumb. They are expensive, but if you have this condition it is worth it. If you do not want to spend that much or be hindered by the wires, check out snowmobile dealers near you for mittens or online suppliers like SpankysParts.com > Snowmobile > Boots/Gloves or Shade Tree Powersports - Item Display Page

I feel your pain! I too remember when my fingers and especially my toes were killing me when I plowed with an open tractor. Not anymore.

+10 on the snowmobile mits. Been using them for 25 years, primarily for snow skiing and have never had a cold finger ever and we're talking some seriously cold outings and the pair I've been using all this time had a cut in the palm. I just shake my head at the guys with their mega buck designer gate padded gloves constantly whining how cold there hands are... whatever.

For tractoring I'd use some light cotton gloves under the mits for the many times you'll require a little finger dexterity.

I have heated grips on my motorcycle, wonder if anyone is going to invent a "heated steering wheel" for tractors. Problem solved.

As A skier who's been out on some -20 deg days, staying warm is a whole body affair. Heat packs in the mittens and boots. Performance underwear, pricey but they do work without the bulk, and something for the head and face. I use ski goggles, a fleece headcover, and a red plaid hat lined with rabbit fur to top it off. I look like Elmer Fudd but it has yet to not keep me warm. Oh, and my ski bibs too. I was skeptical on the hi tech long underwear but it really does work without restricting your movements. That would be a great picture thread....your winter cold weather attire:)

Dress planning for the cold weather activities just may require different approaches to what you choose to wear.

Sitting on an open station tractor is much different than Skiing. In fact there will be a very big different between Downhill clothing and Cross-country clothing.

For the OP's situation which basically is not labour intensive he want to contemplate a hard hat with liner, skidoo suit and the heated gloves and boots.:D
