Kubota UDT or SUDT vs Mystik JT5

Mid to late November your local kubota dealers should begin carrying SUDT2. It is fully synthetic and will be cheaper. I believe they will also be phasing out the old SUDT.

Never heard of it, can you provide some details?

You guys get all the bells and whistles fun:(
I had to go with JD Low Visc HyGard , because Kubota Australia
don't import SUDT  ....... glad to say it's fine though
The Dealer fill of standard 20wUTTO went to the dump on the
first week . Without this Forum I'd have no information :D

If it is nothing special then why do so MANY state it makes a big difference when using the SUDT instead of a substitute?

Depends on application zone (temps), price etc. Comparing SUDT against some other oils it is not special.

Now I heard they (Kubota) are uppping there SUDT. Gee, I wonder why...

What I could do if we had messicks or TSC or equivalent online dealers in Aus, stocking all the good stuff they get in the states! =[

As an engineer in the nuclear industry for over 35 years, I have learned that there are "reasons" that OEM's recommend certain lubricants. When faced with my first hydro fluid change, I called up my trusty "oil-engineer" (we call them Tribologists) who actually used to have a "well maintained" L3130. His input was that Super UDT was the only choice for him, and that was true proof to me. You have to pay for quality, and folks painting their colors and stamping their names on equipment have a stake in performance and customer satisfaction. Choosing a Kubota means that I bought into their technical directions. I have spent 35 years learning how a particular piece of equipment works. I must defer to other experts when I branch out into fields that I do not fully understand. Take input from all kinds of sources, and digest it, then make an informed decision. For me, there is no substitute for Super UDT.

You continue to ignore all the people who have posted their experiences trying other oils in Kubota hydrostatic machines and were not happy.
Yet you still claim it isn't "special". There are even people who say it worked better in other brands too!
As for wondering why they are "upping there (sic) SUDT"...well nothing wrong with product improvement- otherwise they'd still be only selling the first tractor they ever made:p

Mobil and some others make a synthetic equivalent of the sudt. Has anyone tried those?
Aside: since Mobil 1 is no longer fully synthetic (even through the courts allow them to say it is!) I wonder if their "synthetic" version of sudt is really synthetic.

I will bite! LOL...It is nothing special, stop drinking the bota Kool-aid!!!! LOL.....:DIt is not like they (kubota makes) some space age fluid..It is a dino oil with better pumoing temps and a little of this then their UDT.

So people have some issue like more hyd whine. Does it kill the hydro etc? No. Does it cause enough issue for bota to issue TSB etc,no.

If you use UDT in -40F temps then yea it will cause issue (noise, slow warm up etc). For the price I would use a synthetic like Amsoil, example, and get more for the $$$$.

Yup, I have been here since 2002 (not this user name) and yea it works better then others. But what "others" are you comparing it too? SUDT is better then some Roll-back oil but it is not the best out there....It is not the like "S" means little super men are going to come out of the oil and protect all the metals etc...:laughing::laughing:

Yup since I had my old BX22 and these debate on this topic still keep going on it since 2002. Look at the VOA of the SUDT and see what it compares too. UDT and SUDT are only a slight diff. Problem is people look for the SUDT on the other mfg bottles and that is it. There is more too it.

SUDT is a multi-viscosity, conventional oil fortified with pixie dust and unicorn tears.

Apparently HST's love both.
