if u have not owned it and opperated it for more than five minutes u shouldn't bash it most people dont buy tractors from experiance expicaly not a cut most of them or first time buyer they never studied the brands recalls problems, parts price and avability for each brand so in my opinion they are uneucated buyers and think because its green are blue its the best well u should think again

but how many people knows how much trouble johndeere has with hyd leaks and the fords and the sos transmissions the johndeere and massey's where good other than the hyd. system and the fords nh pre 2003 (when they became a long in my opinion) where bullet proof other than the sos trans so dont say u bought it because its supperior u bought it because u liked the color feel for a marketing campain or u cusions aunt betty sues sisters ex husbands nephews son in law had one but most certainly not because it is supperior and most people buy it to keep up with the jones's

and if u are offended by my post you are a uneducated buyer u need to do more research

all in all if u never owned it dont bash it u dont really know what u own anyways many major companys rebadge more of there models than u wont to beleive

I attached a photo of some work I did with the tractor that I started the day after it was delivered. The pond beside the tractor was completed in 2 days and I was hauling some rocks for aesthetics to place in a corner to be arranged later.
As for quality of build of the LS, I only found one small flaw in the 30 hours or so that I put on it and that was a loose wire somewhere in the tachometer as it would work awhile and stop then start again. I am sure that with all the bouncing around that I did scraping up hard shale rock at the bottom I loosened a wire somewhere but I didnt want to stop work to look for it. I wanted to finish my pond. My B-I-L has an NH T2030 that didnt get 5 hours on it before a lower glass in the cab shattered, the Hydrostatic foot control had a weld break on it and it wouldnt stop. Now he has about 75 hours on it and the AC compressor has frozen up. I dont see that big 3 or 4 have any less flaws or better quality than the lesser brands and I certainly dont see paying many thousands more for a lesser tractor will less options just because it is orange or green or red or blue, after all, many of them are made by the same company anyway. If you want to pay for designer labels that are made in China or Thailand go for it but dont try to convince me that your alligator log shirt is worth $100 when I can buy one without the alligator for $10 made by the same company. As far as I am concerned the same applies to tractors. Maytag washing machines are another example of a company trying to stand on rep but quality is not there anymore, just as I dont believe the new tractors are the same. I would not necessarily buy New Holland just because the 8N Fords lasted 75 years nor John Deere because my Grandpa had a 70 JD that is still popping along. I doubt any of the new tractors will be around that long and that has nothing to do with who made them or who maintains them. Old tractors were over engineered because they had no history to tell them what the minimum sizes could be to stand the everyday strains and not much history of metallurgy therefore the made everything bigger than needed. Todays material are made to much less tolerance for strength and durability because the engineer knows much more about the materials, how much stress it will stand, how many repetitions it takes to break an item, etc. Tie that to the throw away mentality of today and you get to replace your car every 5 years and the sheet metal is so thin you can dent it with a finger. But I am rampling and ranting, everyone know this already.

Well , "Stupidity" is a bit strong language in my opinion. We all have some brand loyalty for different reasons. Every manufacturer of automotive equipment, heavy machinery and just about any consumer products has some equipment that are exemplary in all aspects and some real lemons as well. Our needs, wants are as varied as there are consumer so one shoe does fit all. I still think Chinese stuff overall lack the quality that is made in U.S or European made. The difference is slave labor in China vs U.S or Europe. Korean have come a long way in their heavy machinery in the last many years and can rival Japanese to a great extent and may be not entirely in all aspects.

Bottom line is , luckily we have a choice and that's invaluable. Have you heard the adage about having an opinion?

no what is was saying is when somebody starts to critize something no matter what it is and has studied the facts is stupid in my opinion and yes everybody and a brand loyalty but u shouldn't say deere is better than kubota and kubota is better than nh when all you have ever ran is a deere if u haven't had any experience on something how can u critize that something every brand has it good and bad and u cant just point out the good of one brand and say thats why u bought it and the bad of another brand and say thats why u didn't by it if u look for problems u will find them in every brand no matter where its made and people say chiense built is bad but look around your house and see what is all made in china and thing about that everything they make is bad

JC,

yes everybody has a opinion and that is their right but theres opinions and theres facts everything has its good and bad and we buy what we wont so why dont people just leave it like that instead of bashing what somebody else bought

I would by no means criticise the new LS produced New Hollands. Having said that, I sat on a few of them when I was waiting to pick up my Boomer after having the backhoe installed and I did prefer the location of the controls on my Shibaura NH better than on the LS built tractors. I'm sure that the LS tractors are fine because I'm also sure that NH wouldn't risk their reputation on a sub par tractor line. However, just because one tractor can do everything that another tractor can do, doesn't mean that one can't be better than the other for an individual. There are things that are subject to individual preference. I'm sure that an LS tractor would fit my needs fine and do everything that my Shibaura built NH will do, however for me my Shibaura built NH is the better tractor because I like the placement of the controls better for me. There's nothing wrong with preference and it certainly doesn't mean that I wasted my money on a more expensive tractor either by buying one that I preferred the control layout on.

Matters of discussions are never black and white irregardless what the facts are. I do agree that one should speak based on the facts. The thing is you can pick and choose what you want and leave the rest be.. simple as that.

and your are starting to see what i am saying you should speak on the facts but most people dont but the should not argue with some one that is speaking the facts its crazy and that goes to where a tractor is made it really doesn't matter where u was told it was made that does make it better are who it was made by is all does make it better everybody likes what they like in their on opinion not really based on the facts and thats good for them but dont critize to next man or woman for what they choose

and the facts are u buy what u wont not nessecarly what u need or can afford
