Some people must highly value the road kill meat- I almost hit a MAN one night in the dark on a bridge trying to drag a hit deer to his truck!

The best he didn't notice his rad was leaking all over the place and wanted to continue on to work (60km from there) to have the car repaired on his way back.

Wonder how far the lad got before his SUV died?

... I worked from home and kept the kids in order while the wife skinned and gutted it =)

Sounds like the pinnacle of a good wife. I presume you teach some sort of "husbandry" class at a local tech school for this persuasive technique.
She deserves something extra special for such devotion to a cause. She sure sounds like a keeper.

Sister-in-law hit a deer with her full sized Ford van and knocked off the transmission cooler line. Kept driving until the transmission failed. Brother was not amused. :(

She thought this was the norm for rural wives ... who'm I to argue =)

I got her all into the country life, trapping and hunting, clearing brush, tractor maintenance (only if I reeeeally don't feel like doing it).

Can't get any better =)

Not sure about other states but here in GA it is illegal to posess a deer without a tag regardless of the circumstances...the normal procedure on road kills is to contact local law enforcement and they contact the powers that be and salvageable meat is used to feed prisoners or the homeless...

Can you tell me where this is in the regulations? The only reference that I can find is that deer killed on WMAs or NWRs must be tagged out.

Actually the law has just recently changed and I did not realize it...previously it did not have anything to do with hunting regulations etc...it was a DNR legal issue and I was going by what was considered "common knowledge"...my B.i.l. has been in law enforcement in GA for decades and I always asked about road kill deer...at any rate here is a notice from April of this year stating that is now legal to take posess deer without reporting them or obtaining a permit to posess them...
