Got my Land Pride blade last week. I ordered snow shoes for it this past Wednesday and they should be here tommorow. I like the stand for easy removal and hookup. Land Pride also offers a bolt on land scape rake for it also.

Those blades sure look nice when new. What type of work do you have planned for it? Maybe plowing some snow this winter?

You will love your blade. I have to admit; I thought it was going to be pretty easy to use.. but dang! I've only got about a year of experience with mine and I'm embarrassed when I have to use it in front of other people.. I just need about 100 acres with no audience and 100 hours of free time and I think I'll be up to par?

Sometimes for snow, I'll just drive the blade backwards .. and let the curl of the blade going backwards help keep the road base in place. Some have put 2" or 3" black ABS pipe (slit) on the edge to help save the road gravel.. Get some more shots of it once it's not so disgustingly clean ... eewwwwwwww!

Carry on

I've found that the key to good results is SLOW... at least at first. I graded two tandem loads of gravel this spring, in reverse, to resurface my driveway. Excellent results, after I learned that it would take more than 10 minutes.

I plan on using it mainly for snow removal. I should have the skid shoes on it tommorow. I saw posts where people slit the PVC pipe to put over the cutting edge but someone chimed in and said its a peta and didn't stay on well. I just dont want to catch a joint in my concrete drive and chip it all up. Thats why I went with the shoes. I forgot to mention you can get optional side plates for the Land Pride blade also to box it off. It seems like the shoes would work well on gravel drives also when removing snow. It would allow the blade to float instead of digging in to the drive. Here's a link to the blade assembly and the optional adjustable skid shoes are shown as you scroll down. http://www.landpride.com/ari/attach/lp/public/manuals/301-143m.pdf

I have a 6' Deere/Frontier/Woods rear blade that I like, and I bought the optional end plates for mine. They are worth the money as they give you additional control over how you distribute the spoils. Sometimes I use one plate and other times I have both one.

For me the best way to smooth surfaces is to rotate the blade 180-degrees, and remove the tilt pin to allow the blade to float over irregular surfaces.

You did good buying the 84" blade. Mine is the Land Pride RBT1572 and with a good angle on the blade it doesn't quite cover the rear tire tracks.

Nice blade. I'm glad to see they have a stand on them now. I had to make my own stand for my RBT1572 that I bought about 8 years ago.

I use mine on snow once in a while. I find when I run it backwards because the road isnt froze up yet the snow doesn't flow very well across the back because of the tube and lower guesset plate that the LandPrides have on the back. More flimsy blades have a fairly smooth back and work better in snow when turned around. You were smart to get the shoes.

Hey Top, I am from your area, can you tell me how much you paid for it, and I assume you got it from Mr Mutton I am looking to get one this fall as well.

Or did you get it from Harmony? I see you have a MF

Got it at Harmony Outdoors. I deal with with Don. Great guy. Was in there today to pick up the shoes. Blade was $575. It was the last 84 inch he had. He did have a shippment of 72's in though.
