Hey guys, I want to hook up my Herd 3 pt spreader and throw some pelletized lime down. The mower deck goes up/down with the 3 point hitch. There's a "top" detent on the deck height adjust knob.
Is this position so you can lock the deck up to the top and then raise/lower the 3 point implement? I can't seem to get the knob to go past the 4" detent. It won't go to the "top" detent.

I'd like to be able to vary the height of the 3 point while keeping the deck up as high as possible. Can this be done?

Not sure about your model, but did you actually raise 3 pt as high as it will go and then turn th knob? if it still wont go, like mine I had to make a bolt adjustment to push it higher.

As for locking 3 pt, its not done with the mower hieght lock, but rather moving the side arms of the 3 pt to the locking ears. On my BX, the are tabs with holes in it for holding 3 pt up, not sure about your model.

Absolutely possible. I do it all the time. On my 2000 BX2200, I have to raise the mower deck all the way up then hold the 3 pt. lever up just a little bit more to turn the knob to the TOP position. Then when you use the 3 pt., the mower will move down very slightly.

OK, I'm going to try it again, soon as I replace the hydraulic hose that blew yesterday on my loader valve. :ashamed:
I really like this tractor, but it's starting to nickel & dime me a bit more than I like.
Luckily the dealer has been picking up the tab.

Builder, see if you have a threaded rod inside the left rear tire of your BX2200 - see pic of my 1860. The rod connects the 3PH to the MMM lift arms and can be adjusted to allow your MMM to raise up a little higher (as long as it's not hitting the stops on the underside of the frame). In many cases, the MMM doesn't lift high enough to allow for the height control knob to rotate to the "TOP" position. Your BX2200 should have this rod, but could be in a different location, like the other side of the frame.

See the nut at the top inside of my left tire. That is the end of the threaded knob. There's a keeper nut and an adjustment nut.

As others have said, lift to full height, THEN turn to "Top". The deck should then stay up as you lift/lower the 3ph independently.

If you leave it this way for a long time, you can get a bubble in the hydro line and might possibly find that when you turn the knob and use the lever to lower it, it won't go down. In this case, stand on a 3ph lift arm, which will put enough pressure in the hydro line, allowing the deck to drop.

Don't believe I've seen the back end of a tractor that clean, or shiny.

Yea. That was a while ago when new. She's all dusted up now from running my leaf vac. Nothing like dry leaves turned to powder to put a layer of dust/dirt everywhere.
