3-Point Hitch I thought 3 point specs were universal

My BX1850 is a limited version, but will admit I am not sure about the 23** size.

Roy

Roy, Before you get a bunch of BX1850/60 guys ranting that their 3 pt is NOT limited Cat 1, I'll merely say I had a BX1860 so I know the 3 pt system and it's "limitations", if you will. I know that in most cases, XB sized implements simply fit it better and work better. XB is a marketing designation that meant Cat 1 implements with spacing and other aspects more in keeping with limited Cat 1 or Cat 0 sizings.

However, technically, Kubota never stated or states that the BX1850/60 three points are "limited" cat 1. They call them Cat 1. Period.

Here's the brochure:Powered by Google Docs

This is a fuzzy area, that much I will grant you.

Wait until you put on one of those framed quick hitches and find out that your implement pins are set at all different dimensions.

You may have to use a grinder to get things to fit correctly with your hydraulic top link.

Also, some auto stores make hydraulic lines so replacing the ones that don't fit is an option. You may end up spending as much as a Kubota-made top link when its all over.

Sometimes being "thrifty" is not the best choice.

I have one for it, it stayed on for one hook up then it came off. Only one of my 6 attachments fits properly. The others need modification

If you go with the Pat's system they will all fit up perfectly.

I have a BX2660 with a cat 1 3PH. I am currently converting it over to having a hydraulic top bar, got the hydraulic kit from kubota and installed it no problem but I saw princess auto has a cat 1 hydraulic top bar for $100 cheaper than kubota so I went the cheaper route and bought it. Well it turns out that the part that you put your pin through to attach it to the tractor is wider than the tractor opening, plus the hydraulic quick connect is 1/4" with a square center in the middle so I got the same size for the male part and went to plug it in to find it is a hair too big to fit. Isn't everything supposed to be universal throughout the categories? All cat 1's are the same measurements along with all the cat 2's ect. Was hoping to use it to grade my driveway one last time before the snow comes but looks like it's not going to happen cause now I have to find new parts.

I suspect at one time the specs were universal and then some how they must have gotten cross bred with the screwed up plumbing industry followed by inbreeding and this is the sad situation we have today.:(

Kubota offers a hydraulic top link for the BX2660?? Do you happen to know the Part Number?

I thought they did but calling my dealer today and they said they have a local supplier to get those parts from.

I am seriously considering that system cause this is a P.I.T.A. Trying to convert everything.

Lol, I agree cause I was talking to a hydraulics expert and even showed him the female part of the hydraulic hook up and he said it's all about making money. The connectors that came with the kit are very, very slightly different than the others wich means that to use them you have to buy the male connectors from that same company or they won't hook up.

The dimensions and pin spec's ARE universal.
Adherence to those specs varies widely.
