my local dealer said the guard kit was $44 and the light kit was $86.....

I assume the brush guards are the same as on my 3x20. I just put some on a few weeks ago....and its just a matter of loosen bolts, slip guard over light and reinstall the bolts. Five minute job.

Likely will pay-off for me in one brush incident.

Here 'ya go. They tap into the wire harness behind the seat. Should be covered in the instructions that come with them. I have a set for my 2520, but haven't gotten around to installing them.

Neither of these is my tractor, just pics I saved to show the light kits.

I just tossed these on mine this past week. i didn't feel like paying the JD price so I got a set of lights from HF, a new switch and wired them directly to the battery, that way they operate separate from the factory lights. I didn't like the low mounting of the JD lights since I am tall and have a rear blower, I didn't want to deal with light blindness. hope it works out for you. the JD wiring is wire tied behind the seat under some tape, very easy to find.

That's a JD bracket around your signal lights that you mounted the work light on? I think I like that!

Yes, that is the factory brush guard for the lights which is a separate option from the auxillary work lights.

I really like Jester's method of mounting the lights, but I run with my ROPS down so often that it wouldn't work for me.

NOT that I'm condoning operating the tractor with the ROPS down...

luckily, my separate "tractor garage" has tall enough doors that the ROPS are not an issue, I did leave the wires long enough to lower the ROPS with no issues for when I need to bring wood into my attached garage.

thanks for the pics....I too leave the ROPS down for most of the work I do( mowing under trees) ...I mainly wanted some extra lighting because the front bucket blocks the headlights.....I'll start off by mounting them to the JD brackets and if they blind me then I may move them to the ROPS....:)
