This was going fairly smooth until I hit the suction screen part. Before I get into that, I'll add this tip. Before removing the trans filter and suction screen cover, I'd recommend blasting those areas with a hose (tractor should be cooled off) to remove the accumulation of dirt, grass clippings...etc. The manual has a couple of alerts of checking the fill cap for those things but the fill cap sits high on the tractor and gets very little crap around it. Those 2 aforementioned items that sit on the bottom of the tractor accumulate a lot of gunk.
Now back to the suction screen cover. This has turned out to be a little pain in the butt because of it's location and also because the cover's one end is mated with a hose that connects to a metal pipe going in a different direction. I chose not to take the hose off and was able to get the suction cover off with the hose still attached but it wasn't easy. I did all this from underneath the tractor. I thought I heard somebody previously mentioned taking off the rear tire to gain better access. I am leaning towards doing this now because I am having a tough time getting the cover back on and it's connection with the hose.
Anybody who has any tips on this part of the job, please share.
Thanks!
