I've owned a 7 foot Lucknow, which broke twice in 5 years, a Woods SS52, which I had for 4 years, trouble free, but surprising is I now own a New Holland 64CRS. I don't know who makes them, but I would say it is superior to both.
Good luck shopping.

Put me down for no complaints on a Martin Meteor 51" with electric chute control.

Had a 9ft Meteor. Replaced with a 9ft Lucknow. Lucknow performed better. processed the snow easier and threw it further. Have downsized tractors, am using a 7 1/2 ft Lucknow. Works very well. Also...i agree with others, you want 4 blades on the fan.

Most shops in the area stock Meteor - I've yet to hear anything good about them....

That is quite a statement. May be because all you remember is the bad stuff, just like the high school years.

I have a six-year-old Meteor and it has been running without any trouble.

I have a Meteor and it is a fine machine which I have worked HARD for 5 years with no trouble. My drive is 1/2 mile long, plus pad out front of my barns and shop and turn around at the top of the hill.

Nothing but good things to say about it.

I originally sized it to run on the back of my 3710 and it did a great job. I subsequently mounted it on on a 100hp Hesston just to get myself higher off the ground, as neither of my machines have cabs and it is often windy on the top of the mountain I live on.

The blower handled 3x the hp without any problems. Of course, avoiding "stupid" while operating is always a profitable caution when using expensive, powerful tools.

I was out at the dealer in Milford, NH this past week and they have a 72" front mount out there that would work nicely on your tractor. It was a hold over not sure just what they were asking for it.

I am going to chime in and recommend my two choices of blowers. First is Normand and second would be Pronovost. Both are made in Canada and are as tough as nails. Set either of these blower beside any other brand and you will definitely see a difference in build quality and strength. For example I have a 6 foot Normand blower that tips the scales at a little over 1500lbs.

I have a Loftness Model S66 inch, the thing is built like a tank. Has a 120 HP rated gearbox, and weighs just over 800 pounds. I've had no trouble with it on my gravel/trap rock driveway, sometimes I end up throwing more stones than snow. They actually have a video on their website that shows one throwing "snirt" (snowy dirt). They make a nice machine!

My Meteor choked on a 8-10 inch piece of hidden "SMUD" a few years back, but as I said earlier, it was very straightforward and cheap to get it operational again:thumbsup:.
