I am going to chime in and recommend my two choices of blowers. First is Normand and second would be Pronovost. Both are made in Canada and are as tough as nails. Set either of these blower beside any other brand and you will definitely see a difference in build quality and strength. For example I have a 6 foot Normand blower that tips the scales at a little over 1500lbs.

Yes, agreed.
Around here they are the only ones that stand up to contractors use/abuse.
Rugged, heavy duty and all wear components available from most bearing suppliers.
No need to special order parts.
All bearings, bolts pins and chains are standard stock items.
Both auger and fan are sheer pin protected.
I know one chap that so badly abused his blower that the gear box was loose on the mounts and the blower tunnel worn right thru.
Think he blew more gravel than snow LOL.

Simple fix, new bolts and weld in a new skin in the blower tunnel.

Just grease after every storm and gob a handful of grease on the chain.

I think that both of those blowers are made in the same plant and are re-brands. I was looking at an ad for the Puma, and it is identical to my Normand Econor, right down to the stupid hydraulic hoop chute mechanism (which neither use any more).

A guy was sitting in his barber's chair and mentioned he was taking a trip to Rome to see the Pope. The barber said "Why bother - the planes are crowded, the restaurants are expensive, the hotels are dirty and the Pope will just walk by - you won't get to talk to him".

A few weeks later the guy was back in the shop and the barber asked him about his trip to Rome. The guy said it was great - the planes were roomy, the restaurants were reasonable, the hotel was spotless and he even got to talk with the Pope. When the barber asked what they talked about the guy answered "He asked me where I got the lousy haircut".

The New Holland I bought is made in canada. Anyone know the real manufacturer? It is HEAVY DUTY.

How do you copy a quote in that neat box?

When it comes to snow blowers ,scrapers, blades and such I'm afraid that I'm a little partial to Buhler farm King and it's not just because of the quality which has not changed I'm glad to say since the company was sold to a Russian firm, but also because the former owner is a close personal friend and I get all of my implements at factory cost.

The other plus is that if anything breaks it's an easy trip, 20 miles to the main plant in Morden Mb. and it gets fixed no hassles.

I don't think that you can go wrong with the Buhler line.

So when you get a cheap hair cut, you can afford to go to Rome.........:D

I've got a Schulte 74" that I bought used ( used twice ) by the owner. Only issue, I guess, is the three blade fan. Looks to be well built and is close to 800 lbs.

Called the factory once in Canada to ask a question and spoke to someone in the parts department. He liked the three blade fan over the four blade fan, I never asked why. But everyone around here likes the four blade fan.

I've had it now for two seasons and as of yet, put it to a hard test.

One thing I can tell you, if you are going to blow heavy/wet snow up hill, you will need chains. I have loaded tires and 49 HP 4x4 with all rubber chained.

See what size the gear box is ( HP rating ) chain size, lube points, thickness of construction material, weight will help with that. Happy shopping.

I have a 54 inch Normand industrial snowblower on the back of my 3320 and it is something else. It has two cross augers so it can cut the high banks. It also has an extension if I wanted to load into a truck. It weighs 1100 lbs and has hydraulic tilt and rotation and two cross augers. There is nothing better but you will pay for it. Fortunately I got mine off of ebay with 8 hours of use on it.

Your hew holland blower is a ber-vac blower. They make them for NH, kubota, frontier, and as there own brand blizzard. A well built blower well worth the money.

If you want to quote a post just click the "quote" button in the post you are reffering to. That will take you to the reply to thread page with the post already in the box, now just type your message under it and hit submit reply.
