2007 6.0 Powerstroke reliability.

Should be a nice truck. I noticed you said you can work on them yourself. A word of caution here, I had to perform a roadside alternator change (hauling horses, leaves little time to spare). Not among the happiest times I've had. Couldn't figure out how to get the fan shroud off, so ended up being tougher than it should have. Removed a turbo tube to gain some clearance and found out the silicone adapter pieces are pricey and apparently a one time use item. Other than that, the truck has a tad over 88000 miles and going strong. Oh, and the pretty shiny front bumper cover is a pain to r/r too after it gets too close to the tractor .

Sounds like more GM bashing because it's based only on your opinion and no facts. Very disrespectful to the GM truck owners that belong to these forums, including me.

Yep, purely opinion, just like 99.9% of the stuff that comes out of your mouth. I guess we all have ours.

Either way I am glad he was able to read through all the BS and hype and get the best truck for him and what he wanted. Its his money and I am sure he will be happy like I said before.

I have a GM and it has been great for the most part. My neighbor has a Dodge that has also been great. We have a 7.3 Ford as well that has been bullet proof. On the same token, my boss's first 6.0 was bought back, my neighbor with the Dodge had his 6.0 engine replaced on his previous Ford, and another coworker has a Dodge that eats transmissions like kids eat candy. There are also Dmax guys that have injectors crapping out frequently which cost an arm and a leg. There is no such thing as a perfect truck, unfortunately. They all potentially can have minor or major issues regardless of brand. Some obviously more than others, of course, but still I don't think anyone can claim their brand is so much better than someone else's. Best of luck to the OP of this thread, I hope the truck works out fantastic for him.

There you go. Thats what I was trying to say. Buy what YOU want and what gives YOU good service. I have tried buying in to what worked for others and it just did not do it for me. It comes down to who is writing the check and what THEY want, not anyone else.

I have more of a need for a "real truck" here than most and somehow I seem to get it done with my GM truck. Not bad for not even being a "REAL truck"......

Well if it is any consolation, the wife's new Suburban is in the shop already after a series of hard/no start occurances. Turns out to be cam position sensor and fuel pump. Owned it what, two days?
