Yep, I was almost a lifetime subscriber to Found On Road Dead.
We should have member's only jackets. I no longer need my commuter car (2001 Ford Focus) so I decided to sell it. In the past 3 months, I've had to replace the plug wires and ignition coil ($125), a/c compressor ($200), sway bar end links ($20 each but a pain to replace), front shocks ($40 each) and a front wheel bearing ($75 plus $50 to have it pressed in). Then today I start it for a short drive to keep it running and the battery light comes on, get home and test the alternator and sure enough it's putting 11.4 volts to the battery plus I now hear a leak in the muffler. Luckily I do the work myself or this thing would have cost more in repairs then it's worth already...

All this on a car that has 139k miles and mostly highway, I'm the second owner. Any more money spent on this car and it will be Found Off A Cliff Dead...:mur:

simply can't aford to sell it and replace it with a similar sized vehicle. it's not worth enough to sell, without me digging into my pocket to buy a real truck.. :)

I found my life to be much happier when I move equipment or vehicles down the road if I don't like them. Life is too short to own a vehicle you hate for 10 years,,,,,, but whatever floats your boat.

Just remember, the grass ain't always greener on the other side. I used to own a bunch of the so-called "real trucks" with different crews driving them to work and most of them were real POS's. Couldn't stop spending money fixing them. Finally took off the blue oval blinders and I'm lovin owning this truck instead of money pits.

Thanks for your opinion. Its worth about as much as mine.;)

I started the other way around with the GM Junk. Nothing but headaches. You get smarter with age if you listen.

Sounds just like my 2 Saturns but you know, they were the best thing from GM I had owned so I put up with them because they did the job so cheaply. Yes, I put $500 a year into them but at 38mpg day in and day out and the typical GM use a qt of oil every 1,000 miles it was still a very economical ride.

I would still have them today if it were not for GM's business practices. I can not buy into anything like that, I have too much self respect.

the e series I didn't like. I never felt they handled load as good as the f series. even with similar packages, side by side.. the e's suspension felt spnogy and they felt like a dog ont he highway. deffinately not a fan of ford vans. had an areostar cargo van that was ok... real fuel efficient.. no pickup though.. even for a 6 cyl...

Nice bashes.

It'd be one thing if you only talked about your personal bad experiences with GM, but in all your hundreds (if not thousands) of bashes against GM, you constantly generalize.

Must be nice to be exempt from the rules of the website. Might as well keep bashing away.

Some of us have to (or chose to) play by the rules.
