"Well if it is any consolation, the wife's new Suburban is in the shop already after a series of hard/no start occurances. Turns out to be cam position sensor and fuel pump. Owned it what, two days? "

Now you know why they traded it in. Hope, everything works out for you.

I hope it not telling of the future to come with this truck. The 5.3L while no power house has a good reputation. Hope it works out for you. Keep us updated on both the F-350 and the Suburban.

I'd doubt it. If it was traded in with a no start problem, the buyer would have to be pretty stupid to buy a vehicle if it wouldn't even start. LOL

Doesn't make for a very impressive test drive.....

And there's a good chance that will take care of things. Hopefully, end of story.

It's also a 4 year old truck, it's not like you just dropped $40k on a brand new vehicle and your already having problems with it. The problem with used vehicles is you never know how it was used or maintained...

Hopefully that's the only problems for a while.

That's certainly no "consolation"! Bummer, sorry to hear. Maybe it sat for a while before you bought it. I've had more issues with "lot rot" stuff than anything else I think. By "lot rot", I mean little annoying things that seem to invite Gremlins when they are not used for a while. I wouldn't take it as any indication you got a bad vehicle. Hopefully she'll be good for another 100k miles with no problems after this fix! Good luck to ya!

ditto that. mines got 146k on her now ( 2000 yukon ) aside from the good care I give her since day one and the fact it alwas gets low on oil before it's 3k oil change and all the interior plastic parts that break in it, the 4wd sensor that never stays operational for more than a month, the 1 touch 4wd servo that usually works to shift out of 4wd so you can get back on the road and drive home faster than 20mph, and the fuel gauge that has been fixed 3 times and still don't work..

yeah.. it'l probably be a fine truck! ;)

You're doing a great job making this guy feel good about his very expensive purchase.

as good as I did / do every time mine rolls over on it's back and has to be towed to a shop.

I FOR SURE hope his is a normal ./ good vehicle. I don't wish repairs on anybody.

but he SHOULD hear of what other owners have experienced both good and bad.

to sugar coat it or only show one side skews the facts.

that's what we want isn't it? transparency...
